It's been a very sad year but this place has been a bright spot.

...but I wanted to share some of my thoughts.

I'm glad you did Rosie, thanks.

They were singing the National Anthem in the background while I was reading your post, now I need a tissue. I didn't realize I still had tears in me for this event.

We are replacing our normal Wednesday night prayer meeting with an event honoring our local emergency workers. I think I better pack some Kleenex.

Thanks for your thoughts Corin.

I didn't even think about the names being read as being vicitmizing for the families. I was making a joke about them being subjected to Hillary, on this day of all days.

But you're right. Thanks again, friend.

You are right about that NC.

I'm sorry I missed your name in the ping list for my post above. I am always worried about forgetting some people.

ALL: If I forgot to ping you in my post above mentioning 9-11, consider this your ping. Go back and read it. ;^)

Umm, sure is a nice day here. We started out with a light rain and now it is pretty cloudy which will make it cooler than it otherwise would have been.

Mr. Funkle, do you have a supply of croissants to munch on throughout the day?

Good morning ksen funkle! Good words above, FRiend, I have just sipping coffee and watching the news, of course, trying to gather my thoughts! More in a minute...

I was making a joke about them being subjected to Hillary, on this day of all days.

I knew that. But I also believe that Hillary, and people like her, are part of the ugliness of this world. I'm not quite inclined to agree with Ann Coulter that all liberals are inherently evil. But I believe the origin of liberal thought lies in the pit of Hell.

Why no I don't, do you have any you can spare?

Whoops, President Bush is on the radio, back in a bit.

We are replacing our normal Wednesday night prayer meeting with an event honoring our local emergency workers. I think I better pack some Kleenex.

Some of the people from our office are bringing thankyou cards (and some baked treats) to the local fire / police / rescue folks here. It's not much, but we wanted to do SOMETHING.

Thanks for your post, too...it was beautiful.

And I have a feeling we'll all be needing to "pack some Kleenex" today.

Rosie! How bittersweet for you to remember sharing a day like that with your Mom on this anniversary. It is a treasure to save... one of those memories of your mom still living that will remain vivid because the emotions were so high. I am a bit jealous of you and your folks all sitting on the bed together watching this event happen.

My Mom had already been gone a few years, so was not available to help me figure this out... I am still gathering my thoughts, and my head is spinning. More to come....

Good morning all,

It's nice to hear such patriotic, heartfelt eloquence, which I won't try to equal, from friends.

I know that America is truly the beacon of hope, liberty and justice for the world. We are lucky we live here, lucky she exists.

Those who would extinguish the beacon are many and motivated by evil and the desire for power. However I am sure that, if we stay true to ourselves, our beliefs, our principles, that we shall, with the support of most of civilization, prevail.
