Cher of the Dog fits nicely...

LOL!

Billie Burke was an attractive woman when she played Glinda, but when she was a star on Broadway, about a quarter of a century before that, she was really stunning.
To: Corin Stormhands
If only I'd been able to last another 15 minutes....
Congratulations!
To: HairOfTheDog
I thought that was kinder than "Hair of the Warg" ;-)

but when she was a star on Broadway, about a quarter of a century before that, she was really stunning. You're not trying to tell us you saw her on stage are you?
To: Corin Stormhands
You're not trying to tell us you saw her on stage are you?LOL! No, I saw a poster advertising 'Miss Billie Burke', she looked amazingly like a young lady that I had a crush on at the time (during the Goldwater campaign).

15 more minutes and you may have fallen off the wagon! [whew]

Evening all! - I have been working still, puttering on a report for my database. (the 50 page report I printed? - Oh its birdcage liner!) Rats! - There was an error in my query that I didn't notice till I could print it and really look at the numbers.
Fixed now, and reprinted. [whew]

Good evening!
Doing some work here too, but not too much... planning to knock off soon and go read the first Annals of Beleriand (from the History of Middle Earth).
Those horses above are Percherons, no?
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Most likely, hard to tell, there are a lot of various draft breeds of that type.
To: HairOfTheDog
The thingies on their manes are similiar to some pictures of Percherons I found yesterday....
To: Bear_in_RoseBear; Inge_CAV
I think the braids and ribbons are commonly put in all the draft breed manes for shows and parades and things... And you will note from this picture they often dock the tails. Now that part is practical, to keep their tails from getting tangled in the harness, but I don't know if the main ties had a practical origin.... pinging the draft horse guy, Inge_Cav!
To: HairOfTheDog
Not an expert on draft breeds and mine have full tails. They need those tails to swat flying insects away with. The tail docking must be for show only as I have never heard of tails getting tangled in harness. Come to think of it, I can't remember seeing any Amish teams with docked tails either. : )
