It's a wonder Peter Jackson didn't use that artist to help him conceptualize the film. :-)

Thanks for the pics. Rohan looks very like I have always imagined it. It's nice how much Jackson has been able to do that so far.

I haven't found many pictures of Percherons, but I did find this interesting linkHmm...their early history almost sounds like Rohan, no?

You would have liked to see Morgan Fairchild in the film would you?
To: NewCenturions; HairOfTheDog
Hi, New Centurions and Hair, I was referring in the previous post to the pictures that Hair posted. But New Centurions, thanks for the poetry :-)

Here is a team of percherons working!

HaHa, Morgan Fairchild may not be my ideal woman. I'm actually very pleased with all the ladies that were cast.
Perhaps, though, Jackson could have seem fit to have had Cate Blanchett and Liv Tyler wear outfits like that one that Luthien is wearing in 2JM's post. ;-)

Folks I know that have been there say it is beautiful. Is it really that small?
To: Sam Cree
I don't doubt that you would like to see that ;~D .. and since Galadriel is clearly a very buff body builder in that one painting, it does seem a shame that she is so draped and hidden by unnecessary clothing.

This conversation is inspiring me to think about posting some more "fine" art in the morning. Thomas Eakins did some very nice paintings of ladies that the Victorians found shocking but that would probably be edifying for our thread :-)
There's one in particular of the famous ship carver, William Rush (I think) carving a figurehead or something. But the real subject of the painting is the young lady being used as a model.
Have to go, will check back in later, hopefully.

I would like it if your chosen art included a few Greek-type men also... if you can.... (but I do hope there are strategically placed leaves ;~D)

"included a few Greek-type men also... if you canYeah, that stuff is even easier to find than ladies. I'll dig some up.

You know, the funny thing is, I actually don't care much for Rowena's cover art... it never seems to be based on the book it's supposed to be for.

I haven't looked at her other stuff... And I don't think anyone is admiring how fitting for Tolkien's characters. We hate it for that! (I just think the guys all have really good legs... even old Celeborn. who'd have guessed!)
