Good morning everyone!

Well, it sounds like Hair is keeping the pony. I was wondering last night...maybe you could train the pony to pull a little cart. Then take him/her to festivals and such to pull kids around in a cart? You would have to hold on to it's head and walk it around, but I bet it would be fun and you could make a little extra cash...pony would have a purpose in life (and would get used to kids).

Once the pony was trained, it could do all sorts of things to help out around the ranch...haul stuff and such.

I may have brought up cart before...but I don't remember what I said exactly. I think it was late at night.

Going to get coffee!

can yuh figure out how to do more with less?...

Well we're working on it. And it depends on 1) what the wife does and 2) if/when the writing really starts to pay.

But the cold reality is that when the little one graduates from high school, I'll be 60.

Of course if the older ones dreams of playing footbal for Virginia Tech on a scholarship and then turning pro actually come true, that could help. Too bad he had no talent. (actually his bigger problem is that he has no drive...)

"Well, I'm back." Though I'm about 1500 posts behind, apparently.

Hello everyone, I made it back from Syracuse, where I left my daughter safely at college with her new car, a 1986 Saab, which we drove there. The drive was fun, a nice time for dad and daughter, though it included a stop in the People's Republic of Charlottesville to repair a compressor that burned up in St. Lucie County, FL.

Stopped in Manhatten on the way back to see some of the great masters at the Met. They have a Breughel there, The Harvest, you can just walk right up to it.

Came in on yesterday's overnight train, lots of fun.

Here is an image to encourage us all to entmeet in Central Florida.

I vote that Hair keeps the pony, at least for now.

Corin, G'nad, the train goes right through both Quantico and Richmond.

Well, Overtaxed, hopefully Dolly will miss South Florida and then come ashore as a depression and give the middle Atlantic states a good dousing.

LCS, thanks much for your replies, I'm suddenly researching that area some and will most likely mail you again if it's OK to continue discussing it.

Anyway, nice to be home.

I wish a kid would show up and want to love her and keep her here!

My daughter would absolutely die to take you up on that offer. If only we weren't thousands of miles apart. Think she could do it over the internet? ;^)

It's been raining here most of the week...I've been opening up the windows and doors and listening to the rain.

I hope it keeps up, but that sounds awfully good.

He got a good bath at the doggie spa, but we still will be taking him in next week for the treatment. Right now he's adjusting to his diet. He's grumpy and the new food makes him throw up. (the vet says this will pass...so to speak).

We had to delay the appointment to deal with orthodontist, and drs checkups for the boys, as well as school supplies and the first week of daycare (don't scream, little one will be there part time while the wife teaches, it's better than Wal-mart...)

Welcome back Kotter! uh....Sam!

Sounds like a good trip. And it's good to have another vote for Entmeeting in a warm climate!

It's pretty expensive all right, I'd ride it more if it was more reasonable. Sometimes I enjoy arguing with Willie Green on the reasons for that, but don't think I'll introduce that here...I truly love trains, though.

Almost time to sight in my black powder rifle...

Only if Hair can figure out a way to compress pony poop into a zip drive...
