So...would that make Hillary a dwarf or a troll?
To: HairOfTheDog
Yikes...
To: HairOfTheDog
and yikes again!
To: RosieCotton
I thought Hillary was the spawn of Ungoliant.
To: RosieCotton
Yep. It's going to be a cool library alright!
Hey, I got the FOTR (from the library) read by that Sibley guy and made copies of the Audio CDs! (Yeah yeah...so sue me...I'm not selling them! LOL) Now I just have to copy TTT, but I ran out of CDs! (It took 16 for the FOTR.)
Nice snàig!
To: Overtaxed
Hm...you may be right. Shelob's half-sister, perhaps?
To: Overtaxed
I thought Hillary was the spawn of Ungoliant. Good answer...
To: RosieCotton
Shelob's half-sister, perhaps? Shelob's evil twin?
To: Overtaxed
Shelob's evil twin?More likely.
To: 2Jedismom
Nice snàig!Thanks!
And you've reminded me that I REALLY need to get over to our library...they're open one evening a week and I keep forgetting which, but I want to see if they have those CDs!
Among other things...I'm an incurable bookworm.
To: Overtaxed
Shelob's evil twin?
I can see the resemblance...

Our library is great! They are part of an interlibrary loan system. If they don't have a book (or movie, DVD, CD or anything), you can request it and they will get it for you from anywhere in the country! Free! It's fabulous.

I can see the resemblance... I'm having a hard time imagining an eight-legged polyester pant suit.

Ours does interlibrary loans, but I believe it's only within the state...so not so great. They also tend to only have newish books when it comes to novels...I like old mysteries for one, so it's frustrating. I end up buying a lot more books than I borrow from a library. Then I end up with piles and boxes and boxes and piles of books I've read and probably won't read again for awhile. My house is a nightmare, I'm afraid!
Some things I pawn off on my Dad since he likes similar stuff, but he does the same to me, so that doesn't help!

I'm having a hard time imagining an eight-legged polyester pant suit.An eight-legged version of Old Crusty? That's a horrifying thought, no?
To: g'nad
Whee!
It's 1600! (Well, close enough)
To: RosieCotton
You could donate the books to the library, then others would have them, and if you do want to read it again, you could check it out!
To: RosieCotton
Our library down in town has one whole room that sells books on the honor system ranging from 25 cents to a buck fifty. I just love to go and sit on the floor in there and browse.
I love to read.

You could donate the books to the library, then others would have them, and if you do want to read it again, you could check it out!Our library doesn't take anything old...they sell most stuff after a few years, or it seems that way. In any case, they're extremely picky about what they'll take.
Usually I just save up a bunch and take them to used bookstores...sometimes they even give you some credit for doing so. But I hate to part with a some of them!
I just need more bookshelves, that's all...and always will.
To: 2Jedismom
Ours used to have a shelf like that...I haven't been in for awhile, but I think they still do. You never knew when you might find a treasure there!
The bookstore in town has a similar section...and they're open evenings. I go check it out at least once a month. Fun!
