That's ok. I'm married to a dwarf. Isn't that an interesting combination? I won't hold it against you too much. LOL

That's an odd combination, for sure.

Can't say I blame him, though. What exactly DOES a dwarf woman look like? I have one brother who refuses to let us discuss this - the very thought disturbs him too greatly...

There has to be SOME reason they never seem to be allowed to come out from underground!

I have heard that they have beards like the men. Is there any wonder why Gimli fell in love with Galadriel when he saw her? Finally he beheld beauty. Perhaps that's why my hubby fell in love with me. I was much more beautiful than any of the dwarf women he had seen.

As far as I can remember there aren't very many Dwarf women and some choose not to marry. I'll have to wait until I get home so I can check the appropriate Appendix.

That's what I'd heard, too. And that's the fact that made my brother refuse to ever discuss them again. ;-)

alot of the techies are not really proficient with the English language.

What I think is that the translators do not really understand what the Japanese and Korean techies are saying, so they make translations that essentially are word for word, and the oriental idioms do not work in English. (Don't speak either language, so this is just a theory.)

Hehehe.

A good friend adopted a child from Romania nearly five years ago, when she was an infant. The Romanian orphanage would send these reports that were sometimes hilarious.

One said: Baby stands on her food.

Another one said: Baby is very hairy.

We assumed something had been lost in the translation! - When they got there, the baby only had the appropriate amount of hair, and was never seen stood on her food.

One sign of the conditioning those babies had was, when they got her home at a year old, she would not hold her own bottle, and didn't particularly want to be held while feeding. At the orphanage the baby bottles were hung on the crib like hampster bottles, and the babies nursed when they wanted. Her preference was to sit up on the floor and drink from the bottle, and she would not put her hands up.

She didn't really mind being held, except while eating. It just wasn't what she was used to. She was very independent, and never cried for attention because crying got her nowhere at the orphanage. Of course, it didn't take he long to learn ;~D

I can't really blame him. LOL It is a scary thought to me too. I know I wouldn't want to come face to face with one.

Me either! Before I saw that about the beards, I kinda thought of them (if I ever thought of them) as sort of buxom Nordic women, only more so - Valkyrie types. Now I just don't think about 'em if I can help it...

If they look anything like this with a beard, no wonder few dwarven males choose to marry...
