Ok...I'm back! Just took a walk down my Bath and Bodyworks "Moonlight Path!"
Cute pic! Still want me to put it on FOTKI?
To: 2Jedismom
hehehehe - if you will, I would like that! Did I ever mention I hate Webshots?

It's something just don't know what! When we come back from vacation if we get more, I'm going to start with a new everything. New bowl, more new rocks, etc. Just in case. And I'll forget what the PetsMart guy said and change the water at least once week.
We'll see if we do any better...
To: HairOfTheDog
Kinda hard for you to get the joke then isn't it? Pretty much.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Still doing work here... That's just wrong.

Do you guys think we'll really pull off this entmoot thing? Maybe. After a day like today when we're literally all over the map, I'm not really sure.
Part of me is leary about real life contact with anyone I meet over the Internet. But I think FR gives us more opportunity to "know" each other.
If we're all still chatting in two years and we don't get together, that'd be a real shame.

Did you find and annackerous grass (however you spell it)?
To: Corin Stormhands
Nite all. I'm turning in.

Check your freepmail. Remember, it'll only stay posted for a 2-3 days. If you want something more permanent, try that York site I was telling you about. It's what I have my profile pictures linked to for over a week now without being removed.

Look at this pathetic display! This is my dog today in the heat.

Thank you very much 2J!

You are quite welcome! Did you see post #19049?

That's the problem with a home-based business... hard to take a break from it.
Good night!

I suppose our personalities might be different in person than on the net. Oh, my offline personality is lots different than my online personality. Offline, I'm very quiet... I let Rose do all my talking for me.

Hi folks, I take the day off, and we have over 400 posta so far, including a few friendly lurkers.
Yes, Mrs. Sulla definitely tells me that I am married, but I think it is only polite to tell a lady that she is appreciated.
As far as the Entmoot is concerned, either we will go with the main Hobbit thing, or do our own, I guess. If we go with them, I don't much like the idea of Toronto in December, or worse yet, January, but probably could hack it. Otherwise, bear in mind that a lot of tourist spots are extremely overcrowded at Christmas time, and harder to get a flight to. In January prices are lower, and there is more availability. I like the Florida idea, not surprising since I am on that map ksen posted, and Bear seems willing to come. The east coast crowd could fly, or take the train. DC, NYC, Chicago, San Francisco and LA all have very expensive hotels, they are much cheaper here. Flights to Florida are less expensive in January also.
I have been to one SF convention, and read about many others. They are like most large conventions, except that there are not many general sessions. If you don't want to see a bunch of folks dressed up like LOTR characters, don't go to the costume ball. There would be everything from little suites with signs saying 'Green Dragon Inn' to sessions with etymologists explaining the relationship between Beowulf and the stories in the Silmarillion, with examples in the original Old English. Not to mention every conceivable LOTR paraphenalia, and likely a number of celebrities, some possibly mixing with the conventioneers. Or we could stay by ourselves, except for seeing the movies.

Yeah - I saw the post but not when you mentioned it before.... what is the site?
I should have my issue with ecurbh's site solved eventually.... I just don't understand it, and haven't had time to figgir it out yet. I created a page there, but the pics didn't load right.
To: Lucius Cornelius Sulla
Maybe I would show up in costume as well, an elvish cloak perhaps, and my sword... They probably wouldn't let me in with the sword huh?
To: HairOfTheDog
It's just a photo album site. York Photo Labs you know?
I just sent you an invitation to see my album. Now what you have to do is sign up, I think. This may give you the ability to have your own album...not sure. If it doesn't let me know and I'll tell you how to get yours. It's easy.
To: HairOfTheDog
They probably wouldn't let me in with the sword huh? Not only would they probably let you in, they would probably have at least one booth in the dealer's room selling replica medieval weaponry and armor... given the nature of this con, probably more than one.
To: HairOfTheDog
They probably wouldn't let me in with the sword huh?Swords never stopped the Conan the Barbarian SF fans from getting into a convention, but there likely would be advance rules regarding costumes.
Cute Dog, looks like an English Setter, we had one of those 20 years ago, lovely dog.
I agree with 2JM about beiong concerned about meeting people over the internet, look at the CGEB story, as well as the recent Commensense problem, but I would think that there would be safety in numbers. Also, I would hope that any stalkers among us would be exposed by that time. :-)
