I keep thinking about your reference to the "People's Republic of Charlottesville" and laughing to myself. Can't wait until the next time I'm there, so I can insult the inhabitants by using that.
Have a great trip to the ocean tomorrow.

We'd rival the Mayberry band. Fine. But I am not going to rebuild the gazebo...

Have a great trip to the ocean tomorrow. Thanks. Tomorrow is my last day at work. We actually don't leave for the beach until Saturday (it's a Sat/Sat rental). But I'm ready now. I'll probably be around here up until Friday night.
I always enjoy an opportunity to bash Charlottesville. GO HOKIES!!!

We should maybe think of having the Entmoot in maybe Kansas City or Colorado Springs...They are pretty centrally located and we should think of maybe blocking off a piece of a hotel and trying to get a special or something and a conference room for a pre-movie party, preferably by a cinema so nobody will need to drive...
Thinking outloud.

Okay, I vote 2JM to be in charge!

We could have the viewing of the movies going on sometime during the day, but giving us ample time to go stand in line and wait for tickets. (Could bring our whistles and other small instruments and play in line?)
Steve very likely would stay in the room with the boys (they wouldn't be allowed to watch it till I have evaluated it anyway...)

But I am not going to rebuild the gazebo... There're spiders under there....

Okay so what pieces should I learn to play? Come to think of it, I'll be needing a session instrument!
WHOA
To: 2Jedismom
Yeah - I think we should keep considering all the possible locations...
Considerations that are currently in the front of my mind are:
Cities that are either central or cheap to fly to.
A local host would be good so that arrangements can be made at known places if possible.
An interesting city has some appeal so that some of us who rarely travel can extend the trip and sightsee...
(Kansas City is not on THAT particular list)
Interesting cities for me could be:
DC area - for expeditions to the Smithsonian, monuments, White House... never been there.
Orlando/FLA - Disney world
Vegas or Reno - (also cheap)
Seattle - I would love to show you guys around!

Definitly the Springle-Ring...do you have the ABC notation to that, by any chance?
And Concerning Hobbits, naturally. The Road Goes Ever On and On?
Any thoughts?
To: HairOfTheDog
(Kansas City is not on THAT particular list)Well...I don't know. I'd wouldn't mind going there for the movie and some barbeque. Mmmm.
To: HairOfTheDog
What??? You don't want to see Lizard Lick or Eagle Rock?

To: Overtaxed
It doesn't HAVE to be an interesting city! - Kansas City would be fine if we wanted to just focus on the moot and the movie! DC just has some other appealing things about it!
To: HairOfTheDog
Yes, a local host would be best. But perhaps not right at their house...especially if we open this up to all of FR! LOL
Besides, having it in a hotel setting would give more freedom to people to do what they want. Like in our case, the kids could go to bed. And other Hobbits might like a pint or two now and then in the bar?
To: 2Jedismom
Well, 2J... we are planning the moot for January-ish I think... If that turns out to be the case, you will have already seen/approved/disapproved of the film for the boys, and there wouldn't be lines.
NOW I would be up for a premier night viewing moot December 18... in which case you would have the opportunity to play whistles in line.

I can put the first bit of Springle Ring into ABC. I'll have to work out the rest of it and "The Road Goes Ever On and On".(hmmmm....how many viewings will that take?)
To: HairOfTheDog
You know, I'm thinking of surrounding interest as well. Colorado would make a nice vacation spot for just about anyone.
Except it's going to be winter...hmmmm...Let me look at the map again...a little further south perhaps?
To: 2Jedismom
Right... Unless we had a Martha Stewart in our midst, physically hosting it at someone's house would be too much. But insider knowledge on the best places to go, the best theater, which nearby hotel to book, that kind of thing.
To: RosieCotton
Session instrument? I don't think my Clarkes are loud enough for sessions. But maybe that's a good thing!
