No! Bless his heart. He's a good boy and such a joy to hold just for that short time. Usually he's running around rampant. I never complain when he falls asleep in my arms.
The lady hosting the party offered to put him on a bed but I declined so she got me a pillow for under my arm.

My mom loves lutefisk, but then I always knew she was odd. I've managed to choke some down once or twice. Rose thinks it's vile and disgusting... sensible woman!

I'm ashamed of you for even thinking of not going! ;-)Yes, I guess I am just talking crazy-talk now aren't I? Who am I kidding?
It is funny... I waited till after Christmas to see FoTR... I was chatting here about it, but I waited till I could go with my brother, and I bought him the tickets for Chritmas. He liked it, but he never saw it again in the theater.

It is vile and disgusting!
Take some cod and leave it out overnight soaking in lye.
Then boil it until it is barely warm and serve it up to the gullible!

Chritmas=Christmas... I was not celebrating any freaky obscure holiday! Honest!

Who am I kidding?Whew! You had me worried about you there for a sec. But it sounds like you are coming to your senses.
To: Sam Cree
hehe, I take it you don't have any Norwegian in your heritage?
Lutefisk is fish (usually cod) pickled in lye. It was a tradition in my mother's family to have a lutefisk dinner just before Christmas. They at least had enough sense not to have it more than once a year... the stuff is nasty!

It is vile and disgusting! No Finn would be fool enough to eat this crud. It was invented by someone trying to convince folks not to eat fish. The only way to eat cod is in codfish cakes (mixed with potatoes, don't you know)

Sandkaker? It's a cookie?

My husband grew up just a few blocks from Lake Superior in the Arrowhead region of Minnesota. We like to go up there every few years and visit old friends and hike.
Now I will tell you what the good people in NE Minnesota can do very well! They can smoke a mean fish!
Along the road you find stands that sell smoked fish. I buy huge amounts of it and pull off great big bites and stuff it in as fast as I can! This just appalls my husband...apparently you're supposed to eat it on crackers like an hor doerve (sp?) or something. I don't care. I eat it by the handfuls and hand great handfuls to the boys after checking them for bones!

Well, I'm headed off for bed... since we've been talking about the northland tonight, how about a northern lights night light?

Good night all!

I think when you lived in a land without refrigeration in summer, the only way to improve the flavor of week-old fish was to soak it in lye.

Take some cod and leave it out overnight soaking in lye. OK, now I get it, lute-fish
Here's a guitar fish - or does it mean "little fish?"

Now I will tell you what the good people in NE Minnesota can do very well! They can smoke a mean fish! They do pretty well with smoked salmon in Washington State, I hear!

Put your hands in the air and step away from the pint...
To: HairOfTheDog
I think you should post that in Coteblanche's Belvedere Room :-)

Here's a nice view of the back of my LOTR shirt! That guy and I were purusing some costumes, one of Arwen's white dress, one of Frodo's costume and one of Merry's. They were very realistic and cost less than $35!
