The great eye doesn't like to be photographed. That's just one of his spies...

Tomorrow is the big day! Matthew's birthday party at the park. I got him a Star Wars AOTC cake and all his plates and everything are that theme. We're expecting 11 kids for hotdogs and cake. I'm a nervous wreck. It's my first real party to throw for him!

They're getting a great goody bag party favor though! Each (Star Wars) bag has a Rice Krispy treat, a bag of sour skittles, a bag of fruit chews, 2 pencils, a magnifying glass and a whistle! (Not a real whistle...a toy whistle...but it looks like a real one and plays pretty good!)

I'm sitting here snacking on an extra rice krispy treat!

Hey, you'll do great. We've always had fun throwing parties for our oldest and we'll do the same for the little one. My wife really gets into the theme stuff.

When he was three will still lived in DC and went to a very "ecumenical/diverse/culturally sensitive" church (it was a weird but great mix). So we sent out party invitations that read "Three at last! Three at last!"

One of my favorites though was the "Under the Sea" party. If I can ever figure out how to post, I'll scan and post in the picture of this incredible cake my wife made. We did snacks with goldfish and gummy worms and more...

This year he turned 13...sigh. He had four friends over and we fed them subs, then took them "Cosmic Bowling" at midnight and after that did a scavenger hunt at Wal-Mart. This guy in his 20s at the bowling alley told us we were really cool and he wished his parents had been like us...

We did something like that under the sea thing with Matthew's 5th... We had the goldfish and we took hotdogs and cut them in two...then cut legs into them to make little octopuses...octopie? But that was just us family...this is a party!

I'm just jittery. I'm very excited and happy for him (he's just on cloud nine about the whole thing). We're just having it at a shelter beside a large play area...really easy and we didn't rent a moon-walk or anything like other parents do.

Expect pictures to be posted! LOL

grumble, grumble...yawn...grumble, grumble...yawn

I am up way too late. I moved my home office around recently so everything isn't refiled. Of course this week I need to put my hands on some major documents. I've just spent the last three hours (between freeps) looking through a box. And it was the wrong one...

So, I'm going to bed. They'll have to wait one more day.

G'nite all.

Good morning! And thank you for the welcome back. ;)

I am a VERY happy hobbit this morning, my DSL is still working, and my new power supply hasn't melted yet--a very good thing. ;)

Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday! I think the weather is supposed to be quite lovely out here, so it'll be another great biking day! :)

Good morning from Washington State! :)

That still of the elves leaving ME is beautiful, Hair. Is that going to be included on the extended edition of the movie? I sure hope so, it looks like a really magical scene...

My new combo drive plays the DVD and I think I've got an audio cable located so I can play CD's too.

You my brother dwarf and the hobbitses were up late! Sorry I couldn't join you...between neighborhood Bible study and physical exhaustion, I was in bed by 2130...(9:30 p.m. for you civilians...)

Great news, a buddy from my NBS bought the FOTR DVD... my first reaction was "whatwereyouthinkin'whydidn'tyouwaitforthextendedversioncanIborrowitomorrownight?..."all in one breath...

He's a good fried so he said yes...course, mightta had somethin to with my hands wrapped around his neck....
