Hhmm, it's sort of anti-climactic grabbing the semi-precious with no one else around.

Did you bawl those life guards out real good?

Grrrr....Imagine my surprise when I talked to the pool manager to find out who was on duty. IT WAS HER!!!! and her cousin who is our other most senior guard!!!!

I put it on the line with her and with the Board. I'm busting my behind to keep us OPEN. I won't have a group of teenagers throwing all that away. I can't do much now except get through the rest of the season. Since this is my first year as President, I've had to learn a lot about the personnel stuff. Now I know what to look out for.

(that is if I don't just quit and buy the family seasons passes to Water Country instead...)

Nice "sneak" by the way...

Well we noticed that didn't stop you.

I watched a movie last night and forgot to run it by youse guys first. It was X-Men. It was alright, I just wish there had been a little more action to it and I thought that it was a little ridiculous that Cyclops, Storm, and Jean Grey couldn't handle Toad without almost all getting wiped out.

I thought Hugh Jackman was great as Wolverine. Ditto for Gandalf as Magneto.

I also got The Story of Us with Bruce Willis and Michelle Pfieffer. We haven't watched that one yet, anybody know if it is any good?

It wasn't THAT anti-climactic.

Haven't seen either one. No desire to see X-Men and just haven't gotten around to The Story of Us. Heard it was supposed to be good.

We watched Rat Race this weekend. There are some language issues (and one exposed breast - from the side), so it's not your basic "family" movie. But parts of it are hysterical.

What happened with your pool?

Just got in from the Store That Shall Remain Nameless and the manager said she didn't think there would be any promotions for the LOTR DVD release. Now that is a bald faced bummer.

We watched Rat Race a few months ago. Your analysis is dead on. BTW, I thought Rowan Atkinson was hilarious. ;^)

Atkinson: Look at this room! Did you see this room?

Whoopi: Yeah, we're in it!

You should have bought a squirrel...Burma Shave...

Oh my. That can be a terrible thing when you have teenagers that don't take their job seriously. A lady at my church dived into the pool where a guy I went to school with was the lifeguard. Some of the swimmers hauled her out and she was gurgling water. The guy didn't do anything. Wouldn't touch her. She died. I baby-sat her 5 year old daughter while her husband made her arrangments at the funeral home.

How horrible. Did the family sue?

Yes. Sued the city. I remember just a few years later (2-3?) the man remarried. I remember the new wife walking in the church holding the little girl's hand. I often wonder how it all went...the little girl would be a young woman in her 20's now, I guess.

Yes. Sued the city.

We're insured so the Board members are somewhat "protected." But if we lost a negligence case it would shut us down. Some days I think we should do that anyway. I'm just concerned about what would happen to the property (it's just a block from my house).

Hi KS! "X-Men" was great. Pre-Spiderman, I was just satisfied that they didn't wreck a really cool comic series. Could've used a little more action, but some wonderful performances. The X-People (to be "PC") were supposed to be a little wet behind the ears strategy wise, which is why Toad gave them a run for their money. Besides, Toad is secretly Darth Maul (same actor)! So he had to give them a hard time...
