Good Morning everyone!

Nothing was happening on the Hobbit front last night around ten, so I picked up a book instead.

Maybe it's because I smile and try to look fluffy and harmless

I don't know about the "fluffy and harmless" part, but people like to be greeted with smiles rather than "grumps".

Hold your boys close 2JM. But Hair's comment the other day was right. We can't protect all the children. We just have to do the best we can to protect our own and raise them the right way.

And sorry about your neighbor. Some people are just idiots. We have a woman in our neighborhood with four children (the oldest is 8). We've lived here for six years and I've seen her husband exactly one time. He doesn't come around, doesn't help. Didn't even take a day off to care for the other kids or to be with her when the son had tubes put in his ears. Unfortunately, she's the kind of Mom who yells at her kids - in that whiney yell kind of voice.

Other Moms in the neighborhood try to help, but there's only so much we can do.

God didn't create us to worry about the whole world. That's His job and He knows what He's doing.

Good morning everyone...

Been up and out already this morning, taking Rose to work. Have some errands to run a little later, but thinking right now about going back to bed for a while...

Hope everyone has a good day!

I know...I don't usually worry about much, I'm pretty upbeat. I don't homeschool because I worry about my kids. I homeschool because I don't like homework!

Still, I held on to Josh all night. He's going on four and I won't be able to do it much longer anyways! Then this morning I crawled up into Matthew's top bunk (can you imagine this slightly pudgy housewife climbing into a bunk bed? LOL) Anyway, he loves it when I do it though and he told me all about what he'd dreamed. He dreamed he went to a soap shop in the mall (Bath and Bodyworks?) and when he got there, it wasn't a soap shop at all but a bakery and they let him have two delicious things for FREE! I asked "Did they give you them because you were nice?" and he said "No, they gave them to me for free because it was just a DREAM!" LOL

Anyway, I feel better today. I felt bad for that little boy, though. I was raised where never a kind or encouraging word was spoken. I told Steve last night that I just wanted to tell those children to just hold on and get grown up and then they can change things. Instead, I'm determined to say something kind to them every time I see them.

And someday he'll tell his family, "I don't remember who she was, but there was this pudgy old house frau who was always kind to me!" ;-)

"We just have to do the best we can to protect our own and raise them the right way. "

That's a great thing to say, Corin, I really, really agree. Some folks, though, you wonder why they even have kids.

"SLIGHTLY pudgey!!

I still don't think you're very pudgy, you said that in the picture, one of the kids was placed strategically, but to tell you the truth, the kids are too skinny to hide much.

Hey all... I finally found Penny's phone number buried in all my email... Went searching for it this morning.

I left her a voice mail and sent her a note letting her know we were worried and wondering... Unfortunately it is her work number, so she may not get it till Monday.

I told her to check in when she can and let us know she is OK. I hope she has a good reason for abandoning us. Maybe she found a man!

[whew] Today I was suddenly inspired to do some deeper than normal cleaning... vacuuming behind things and in the cracks of the couch and things. I find dog hair in places I know the dogs have never been to.

How is your pup doing now?

We gave her back...she was just peeing all over the house, poor thing. She wanted to go home, so I took her back to the neighbors. The kids didn't mind, she didn't ever have anything to do with them.

Went and saw her yesterday and she was happy as could be. She's just used to them.

Also, the lady across the street said she was going to give her to her a sister...a single older lady. That's good. They were gone yesterday evening and I haven't seen the dog since, so that might have happened. You know her little girl was allergic to the dog and the little boy wasn't very nice to her? (This is the same little boy that cut his foot yesterday...makes me understand why he isn't nice to her...he probably doesn't know how to be.)
