An atlatl? You 'da man! I've thought a bout spear hunting boar, but I never thought of an atlatl...

New Page?

I read once in the Wall Street Journal, of all places, that a properly thrown atlatl can penetrate a car door. That intriguing statement got my attention.

Sam, check this site out...BPS manufactures precision made atlatls...

Get this, the World Record for long distance currently stands at 848.56 feet. This throw was made by Dave Ingvall of St. Joseph, Missouri, USA on 15 July 1995 in Aurora, Colorado. Dave used a carbon fibre atlatl with an aluminum dart of his own construction.
Holy shmoly! You can bet Elves are happy that orcses don't carry atlatls...

Have you ever read the novel Footfall by Niven & Pournelle? It includes a scene where an old African native uses a thrown spear to kill one of the elephant-like aliens. One of my favorite novels.

I like option 1 too... but I think we are outvoted on it. (1 is one new Hobbit Hole and Green Dragon combo thread, 2 is separate new thread for TTT).... are there more voices?
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
I dunno about a zorse! - It sure would get looks from the passers-by wouldn't it?
To: HairOfTheDog
hehehe, then there's always a zony or a zeedonk... I imagine they would get a lot of looks!
I find it interesting to see which characteristics get expressed from each parent... the brushy zebra mane seems to be a dominant characteristic, all the hybrids I saw pictures of seemed to have it.
