It will still be cold in Iceland. But it is strategic for important reasons. I see why President Trump would like to acquire or rent Iceland.
The fresh water will float on top. The exposure of rock to weathering and the release of glacial sediments will produce a major algal bloom that could augment the Atlantic’s carrying capacity significantly. I can’t see anything but good from that.
No real studies done over the volcanic effect to Icelandic weather.....since that one went active.

Okay so warming will cause the warm gulf stream to collapse therefore more ice and cold will hit Iceland and Europe...there fore a new cold Ice Ahe will start. I would think the Gulf Stream will get warmer. They are also inferring that there will be this huge sudden gush of cold water that will stop the gulf stream instead a gradual increase of cold ocean water, Meanwhile it is getting warmer according to them so why isn’t the gulf stream getting warmer to compensate?
Something is wrong with their calculus!
Because Iceland officials are listening to stupid people and trying to promote themselves as very serious people to their constituents.
I suggest they worry harder.
Their pols are a far more clear and present danger to the Icelandic populace than Iceland’s geology.
This is not new. The climate nazis have been warning about the collapse of this current for at least 30 years. First time I heard it, they warned that melting ice would introduce a lot of cold water that would disrupt the current.
Another scare they’ve dusted off to keep the masses fearful. Sadly, it works.
