Lawyers for former FBI Director James Comey are asking a federal judge to dismiss the criminal case against him, arguing prosecutors repeatedly violated the Constitution and engaged in "flagrant misconduct" when securing their indictment of Comey at the direct orders of President Donald Trump.
"Bedrock principles of due process and equal protection have long ensured that government officials may not use courts to punish and imprison their perceived personal and political enemies. But that is exactly what happened here," said one of two motions filed by Comey's attorneys Monday. "President Trump ordered the Department of Justice (DOJ) to prosecute Mr. Comey because of personal spite and because Mr. Comey has frequently criticized the President for his conduct in office."

If you have the facts on your side, pound the facts;
if you have the law on your side, pound the law. Pound harder, Comey lawyer!

Comey’s legal argument reminds me of the Menendez brother begging for the court’s mercy because now they are orphans.

The Judge is conflicted rat so the motion will probably be approved.

More succinctly stated, but the image of a lawyer futilely, plaintively
pounding a table is a better image than a bloody visage.

Sounds like Comey has changed his tune. A few days ago he said he was looking forward to a trial.
To: DallasBiff
Suddenly Comey has discovered due process. What a revelation that must of been.

The President can direct a prosecution started, stopped, or even conduct it himself if he pleases.
Where did he get this strange idea that the DOJ is independent of the President? A lawyer put this out? No less than Jefferson conducted an investigation and order the prosecution of Burr.

He was indicted
ON CRIMINAL CHARGES
BY A GRAND JURY

I guess it takes 5 to craft that level of obfuscating garbage.
