Maybe if the department/major didn't exist before 1950 (except for certain STEM studies), one should question whether to engage in that field of study.
Also: Houser left Texas earlier this year for a new teaching position at The University of Antwerp in Belgium.
Like almost all articles about people "leaving" or "escaping" some imaginary evil, this article is very light on facts about intended destinations. The only example it cites is Belgium.
So, the tiny country of Belgium is going to be able to absorb all those professors of "Underwater Basket-Weaving" and "Lesbian Dance" from Florida, South Carolina and Texas?!
I doubt it!
Regards,
Twist in the wind, losers.
“Houser left Texas earlier this year for a new teaching position at The University of Antwerp in Belgium.”
She’s a moron. She thinks the U.S. is so bad but wait until she starts teaching in a country where Islam is growing by the day.
Good luck to her and her Muslim students.
why go to Europe? why not, oh, say, Saudi or Ethiopa, or Thailand? Wide open there, by golly. Or do they just want to preach to the choir? Or, are they trying to get away from..ooooh. shall we say it? minority populations who could care less about ‘environmental humanities’???
The Guardian (Socialist) newspaper does not realize that Texas and Florida have the #2 and #3 largest immigrant populations in the USA!
Sorry, Guardian.
The Old USA South disappeared a couple decades ago.
Good riddance.
“The South shall rise again.”
Of course nothing or any concern about STEM professors leaving the South. Because they aren’t and don’t have to. Just the leaches who have benefited from DEI-related 💩.
GTFO already.
“There are so many things wrong with college professors, I can’t help but think if they are leaving, it’s a good thing.”
If all the left wing professors leave the southern universities and move north, then maybe conservative professors will have a chance to get hired. Just think. We could then have real universities in the south once again. Let the northern colleges have all the environmental, gender studies, critical race theory professors. The southern colleges could have the critical thinkers who teach real history, English literature, and STEM subjects.
The south will rise again!
Relaxes me and brings greater hopefulness.
I would recommend they move to venezuela.
Good! Pack your 💩 up and get your 🍑 TFO!!
I am amused that she is so narcissistic that she thinks her students will really notice when she’s gone and not get over it in about 5 minutes or at most the time it takes to sign up for another class.
are considering leaving their state because of the impact the political climate is having on education,
Well, bye!
That’s the point.
Wonderful news. Self deportation!
Does the word consider mean that they are thinking about it? Did the interviewer ask them if they think of other things too? Like moving to a nicer home in the same area?
So when a state cracks down on education and wants to kids get educated not indoctrinated then a lot of professorsare leaving. I’m good with that.
“ Most of these professors are from New York, probably Jewish.”
I doubt a Jewish professor would move north. Aside from the fact that they are on the literal bottom for DEI purposes, and thus probably pretty good professors having still managed to get a position despite being disfavored, the leftist open hatred of Jews that is openly fostered in the North would seem to discourage such a move.
My wife is an ER doctor in a hospital related to a medical school. They regularly get resumes of doctors that would have never looked at them before as Jewish people leave the hostile schools of the North.
Translation: They new students aren’t buying my crap any longer.
Do any of them need help? I know my bumper sticker reads “yes this is my truck and no I won’t help you move” but in the case of ANY liberal activist professor wanting to move out of Florida....I’ll make exceptions.
