https://www.naturalnews.com/2025-05-07-altman-launches-eye-scanning-orbs-in-us.html (May 2025)

ChatGPT CEO Sam Altman launches dystopian eyeball-scanning “orbs” across six major cities in the U.S.

Sam Altman's Worldcoin has deployed chrome-plated orbs in six major U.S. cities (Atlanta, Austin, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, San Francisco) to scan users' irises, generating a unique "IrisCode" for identity verification.

Verified users receive a World ID (a "global digital passport") and WLD tokens, usable on platforms like Minecraft, Reddit and Shopify. The goal is anonymous, AI-proof online verification.

World coin aims to install 7,500 orbs across the U.S. by 2025, partnering with Razer stores, cafes and campuses. Over 12 million users have already been scanned globally.

Critics warn of mass surveillance risks, given Altman's OpenAI ties. Countries like Spain, India and France have temporarily banned or restricted the orbs over data privacy violations.

Worldcoin claims scans are deleted after processing and data is secure, but skeptics (like privacy advocate Glen Goodman) question potential misuse, hacking risks and the company's Cayman Islands registration.

Re: World ID verifies users via iris scans and stores their identity data using blockchain...

So voice, face, and other bio-metrics can be faked by AI, but my iris, for some reason, is 100% reliable?

I am also still waiting to hear a clear explanation concerning the alleged 100% security of a blockchain data base.

“forced into this position because of trends”

Great point... not mentioned enough thanks for bringing this up.
They will have to drag me screaming and kicking ... but dragging they are.
Every online thing I do (FR excepted) is trying to incorporate a smart phone text with my security ... I don't have one.
I carry a burner when I go out just for emergency calls
I don't even get cell coverage at my house.

At this moment I have a domain I can not change the contact info on because I can't/wont give them a number to send a text to....
It won't be long before I will be forced to get/have a personal gps/data thief just for everyday encounters.
..... and it p****s me off something awful.

just had to vent

“Example Cell Phone contracts, if you do not agree to the very unfair one sided terms of service “

I have been treated very fairly by T-Mobile. What is unfair about their contract?

Please provide examples.
