That part about not trusting her to stay in their home alone is what gives me the thought that it’s a drug or mental health problem.
If they leave her alone, will she be cooking meth in their house - or stealing the valuables to sell them and feed a drug habit? Committing suicide if she’s not got someone watching over her?
Hard to tell from the article what the reason is for the lack of trust; so it leaves the reader to speculate.
I had the other way around in 1974-1979 . Ended up basically supporting my parents for four years ,half my pay for a place to sleep and laundry,working 6 days a week and being criticized for not being more successful.
Everyone has a story.
