I worked with a guy - this was back in ‘97 - and his sister was on the coast of LI and absolutely saw a light going up to the plane, then the explosion.

Not stated in this piece was it was the summer before the re-election of Bill Clinton as President. I recall information the White House situation room was monitoring this top secret missile test. There was evidence of U.S. Navy ships immediately steaming AWAY from the crash location of TWA 800.

James Sanders, now deceased, referred to by Jack Cashill in this piece, had authored a book about the truth of the accidental missile shoot down of TWA 800. I met Sanders in Nashville and talked with him briefly about his book.

I called into a radio talk show in Nashville and brought up this book with the host. He hung up on me on the air, ridiculing my “wild conspiracy theory.”

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is the agency required by federal law to investigate airline crashes. In the case of TWA 800, the FBI seized the investigation AWAY from NTSB and locked down the information and physical evidence.

The CIA created a bogus “animation” of the so-called fuel tank explosion which made no sense. What the hell does the CIA typically have to do with airline crashes? NOTHING !

Look at how many of such “conspiracy theories” about federal government corruption have subsequently proven to be ABSOLUTELY TRUE !

Without re-litigating all of the evidence back then (but I'm afraid we will end up doing so anyway...) there was what was conjectured to be solid rocket motor fuel found on some of the seats recovered from the wreckage site, that was denied by the government as such. Government claimed it was leftover residue from bomb sniffing dog exercises.

When the FAA and the CIA have control of all the evidence, it's hard to disprove their conclusions.
