Thank you very much and God bless you.
They had their day in the sun. It is now time to turn it into a vape shop or payday loan place.
‘The President Macron’.
couldn’t they just move somewhere else?
Old school joint with dark wood panel walls, long bar with stools. kind of more like a steak / chop house. The photo’s (never been there) look kind of like the well known Smokehouse in Burbank where I have been many times back when my Grandmother was still alive (1980 -1990’s)
Very sad, frankly I had not heard of the place in all 60+ years all in So Cal.
IIRC, they’re near Union Station, Olvera Street and Chinatown, prime tourist locations in the past. If there’s “rampant crime” there, the city is truly done for. Thanks, as usual, to the “progressive” Democrats.
ICE and National Guard, /s.
I forgot to add, crime may be an issue, but demographics has shifted BIG TIME to Taco’s and Burrito meals.
The French Dip wasn’t invented in France??
Next you’ll be telling me that the Italian Beef sandwich wasn’t invented in Italy!
French dips are really good. Closest thing to it around here is a brisket sandwich. Aus jus is available upon request.

It may well be in that area, but the more well known Phillipe’s is definitely in that area.
Tattoo parlor might be nice.
Correction. I realize I just mixed up Cole’s with Philippe’s, which is the one near Union Station that also does French dip. Cole’s is in the heart of downtown across the freeway. I’ve eaten at both but that was many years ago. Cole’s was frequented by the courthouse crowd, as I recall, and the better class of bums.
Yeah, I lived in So Cal 50 years I don’t recall this joint. I do remember a Phillipe’s or something like that. It also had French Dip. And Langer’s or something like that on Fairfax near Melrose.
That area is like a ghostown now.....
Yes, see my correction post 14.
Technically speaking, Jerry Lewis wasn’t French. He was just “revered”.
Langer’s more like MacArthur Park, also just closed.
They can sell CBD and Kratom ...
Oh, I’m thinking of “Canter’s” on Fairfax. Been there a long time too. I think still holding on.
