Apple makes good software called “Time Machine” to do that, but that doesn’t help you. I tried using Time Machine with an external drive connected to our router/wifi access point, but had mediocre results. I just asked Grok “how can I make background backups on a PC to an external hard drive attached to my router?” and it came back with a complete set of directions on how to do it. It’s not terribly hard.

I use cloud backup to Apple iCloud and it works very well. Very seamless and transparent. I can access any documents from any device. It’s come in very handy for accessing files when I’m away from home.

A few months ago, a deer committed suicide on my car. Still don't have the car back and so far, we're at $23,000 for the repairs. MayflowerMadam was in the car with me when this happened. A first contact with a deer for me.

Yes, those are great! (except for the operators always listening in).

Us kids solved the operator interception problem early on by using string and tin cans ...

Since I could get everything at half price, I sort of took advantage of it at the time. And yeah, stories. 😉

My wife and I have hit three deer. All were deer suicide. Two ran at full speed in front of the car. The third ran into the side of the car, starting at the front fender and rolling against the side of the car, wiping out all body panels. It was a large buck with huge antlers. I watched it happen because I was following my wife, who was hit.

Thanks for the link!

Re the “Clicks” keyboard... I did some research and the way I understand it is:

1. They’re working on making them for Android, but those aren’t available yet, I believe. (We have Androids.)

2. If used with a typical smart phone, about 2-3 extra inches are added to the overall length. (Yikes! Already too big.)

3. If used with a flip phone, e.g., Razr, it still adds inches. But since a flip phone is smallish to begin with the extra inches aren’t a huge issue. That is, as long as you don’t flip open the phone to its full length.

I’ll keep checking back to see what their R&D and Engineering people come up with that can work with our devices.

When you have cats, vinyl LPs collect their airborne fur. Very happy when CDs came along
