Been to both Hawaii and Guam. The locals in Guam are way nicer and down to earth. They genuinely care about their customers and visitors and want you to leave with a good impression.
Hawaii just wants your money.

You may be right on that point. There are plenty of jurisdictions that charge hotel tax. I’m not sure about cruise ships.
