Try this:

The 2022 Subaru Forester’s auto start/stop feature can be turned off for each drive by pressing the “A-OFF” button, which is typically located near the steering wheel. This will disable the feature for that particular driving session, and it will default back on the next time you start the vehicle.
How to turn off Auto Start/Stop for one trip:
Start the vehicle: The auto start/stop feature is automatically enabled when you start the car.
Locate the “A-OFF” button: This button is usually found on the dashboard, near the steering wheel.
Press the “A-OFF” button: This will disable the auto start/stop system for that drive. You’ll typically see an indicator on the dashboard to confirm the system is off.
Note: The auto start/stop system will automatically re-enable the next time you start the vehicle, even if you previously turned it off.

Thanks, but that’s what I’ve been doing for 3 years. I want to find a way to turn it off such that I don’t have to do it every time. The button is in an inconvenient place down above my left knee. It’s hard to see and is a pain to find each time. Just an annoyance.

Right now, your vehicle will only allow 1x turn-off per start. Maybe soon...
