Wonder why they named that piece of land “Greenland”? Because it was GREEN. The Vikings built houses and farmed during their visits. Weather is cyclical, it changes.When I was in sixth grade, I asked my teacher, Mrs. Aucoin, why it was named Greenland. She told me that it was green when it was first discovered.
Later on, the PC dogma types said that Erik the Red called it Greenland to sucker people into coming there; however, I still remember my sixth grade teacher's answer to my question.
