I thought a few weeks ago they were going down? I see more eggs available now.
don’t remember the excuse for copper wire going up but it started at $60, went up to $256 at the high and is currently $128
I honestly can’t believe some of the prices others have posted. I’ve got a guy at work with a bunch of hens, so I pay next to nothing for eggs, but I look at a few stores when I do my shopping here in the far southwest Chicago suburbs (Walmart, Kroger, a few other local places) and I’ve never once seen them over 4.99/dozen.
The left noticed the high price of eggs, just as they started to decrease in price. They haven’t got the news yet, but egg prices are down.
Eggs US decreased 2.62 USD/DOZEN or 45.03% since the beginning of 2025, according to trading on a contract for difference (CFD) that tracks the benchmark market for this commodity. Historically, Eggs US reached an all time high of 8.17 in March of 2025. source: USDA
Egg prices were down -1.37% today.
Look at the graph at this link:

Less the $4 a dozen here for the first time in a good while
Numbers for March were not yet available.
IOW, this is old news, unrelated AT ALL where egg prices are. And has little to do with President Trump’s policies.
Come on people.
STOP BEING LAZY.
READ THE PRIMARY SOURCE.
Record high? I was paying $11.99 for 18 eggs before Trump was sworn in. Last time I bought 18 eggs, the price was down to $8.99.
Yes, that's it. The price of eggs where you live is dropping, so the AP article is full of crap.
The AP article has a nasty anti-Trump slant. So LOOK AT THE PRIMARY DATA from the BLS. Just embarrassing.
Local Lucky’s grocery in Novato, California is selling
18 eggs in a box for $15.00
12 eggs in a box for $10.99
I guess it’s not yet our turn to see those reduced prices.
That’s just the way it is for right now.
I don’t consider it a sign of the Apocalypse if I have to pay a lot for something I want, but can do without if I chose to.
Less than $4 a dozen here for the first time in a good while.
They were $3.49 (on sale) last week at my local Kroger. I guess the authors of the article were basing their story on the price of eggs in D.C. and surrounding areas. As we all know, that is the only area that truly matters.
Need more bunnies.
They’ve ‘stabilized’ here in SE Texas.
HEB - a dozen of the cheapest Grade A Large eggs - $4.14
Kroger - a dozen of the cheapest Grade A Large eggs - $3.99
Aldi - a dozen of their Grade A Large Eggs - $4.39
Wow... usually Aldi is the cheapest of the group.
I could have purchased enough eggs to eat for over 100 years with the money my stocks have gone down this week.
Priorities.
I hear people are coloring small potatoes to use for the Easter egg hunts.
they havent where we are- now has gasoline- i gotta look up ntl av, but our gas is still $3.49- hasn’t budged more than a nickle either way for several months now-
i should last time i checked eggs- a few weeks ago- but gas prices i check regularly-
Last Sunday at Walmart I paid $7.34 for an 18ct Large eggs in PA.
You people who invest in the stock market crack me up. The stock market is risky, not much different than Las Vegas. Then you complain and whine and cry when you’re losing money. So sad too bad.
