Fargo is top of the heap"
I dig that you are one of them. Frances was great, Macy was too on the nose for me, Buscemi did his thing but it felt as perfunctory as Christopher Walken in "Wild Side" at the bottom of the exact same slide-zone that was the nadir of the mid-90s -- and "Wild Side" was a bad, bad movie.
Boom. The main would have never gone back to feed water to the pendejos; the plot would have fallen apart from there; and the rest of the movie is B-grade shitty "quelle horreur" artifice, a total cash-out.
Instead NCFOM spawned total schlock like "Breaking Bad" a year later.
NCFOM is the downwind rollercoaster riding out the obvious Coen-for-sale decline, it's a shame.
"A Serious Man" was the snap-your-neck full stop from their bildungsroman-und-kolboynick implosion, and by then the belabored "True Grit" metamorphisized into a shitty retro-con.
Only Ethan plugs on today -- embarrassingly.
