RE: Mc5.
My area’s home town local band that became famous.
In Norman Mailer’s Miami and the Siege of Chicago he noted all the rock bands were going to perform to protest the Democrats at the 1968 Dem National convention in Chicago but all chickened out in fear except the Mc5 who played.
During the Detroit riots in 1967 their guitarist Wayne Kramer had a telescope on his roof for his interest in astronomy. The Detroit police arrested him for possibly spotting police movements during the riots to relay reports to the rioters. Nonsensical and a lie.

I saw Hot Rize AND Red Knuckles and the Trailblazers in the same show. Disappointed that they all didn’t take the stage together, though.
lol. Kool and the gang.
Smoked cigars with one of the gang a couple times.
Beastie Boys? When? Paul’s Boutique is my favorite album of theirs.
Nice list.
Said a little on another post.
They were my area’s local band (as were Iggy and the Stooges and Ted Nugent and others).
Explosive concerts of always high intensity energy. Had to keep that up and top themselves so as not to disappoint fans.
Imagine the night they were the leadoff band for the WHO. A night to remember.
There will be an opportunity to do so shortly. The Kingston Trio is scheduled to perform locally in a few weeks despite the fact that its members passed away long ago.
I didn’t see Paul Revere and the Raiders listed by anyone...HMMMMMMM???
I remember being amazed at his wit and poetry. Lifetime fan.
‘ But have you ever seen a musical act dead? ;-P’
Nearly. Paul Westerberg was nearly dead. Stumbled on stage, rambled on about how great the crack was for like 5 minutes and escorted off the stage.
I’ll be the New Waver of the group:
Devo
B-52s
Plasmatics
GoGos
Split Enz
Gary Numan
Billy Idol
NIN
David Bowie
The Cars
Tears For Fears
Can’t remember many of these... At Red Rocks, it all blends together...
