Every state requires a physical before a high school student can compete in sports, I believe. As part of that physical, a blood test should be taken and if a Y chromosome is present, you play with the boys regardless of how much you like to wear dresses and other frilly little outfits. The chromosomes don't lie - if a person has a Y chromosome, he is a guy no matter how much he wants to be a girl. Cutting off a guy's private parts and giving estrogen and other hormones might emasculate him to some degree but it doesn't make him female.
If the states won't do it voluntarily, the federal government might have to step in to get it done. Why is it so hard for people to recognize mental illness? I feel sympathy for these people who desperately need true help, not people encouraging them to indulge into self-destruction.

But, if you home school there are provisions to let your child play sports for the public schools, or private school of your choice. So you still run into the problem of a trans guy beating up your daughter.
