I could have, and did tell everyone within earshot, and on Social media. Herd immunity is real and is the way to go. A little known factor to this is, Mothers transfer this immunity to children.
People give credit to the relative disappearance of Measles and other diseases on vaccines. It could be argued that the disease burned itself out, as it had no fertile flesh to reproduce within. Moms got the measles, kids got the measles, Mothers produced children with a good measure of immunity, and the disease disappears as a common occurance.
Why didn’t settlers moving West through Indian country not catch smallpox? Decades of being the ones who survived that disease is why. A sidenote is, now could the disease be seeded into blankets given to Natives? Did the people bringing the blankets get sick too. The Teamsters who hauled the freight? Not to a large extent, Caucausians had developed herd immunity.
