I saw Ellie’s video last night. It’s too bad, maybe with a new NASA administrator and the end of “woke” bs, positive changes for the better might happen.

Isn’t the Vice President the Head of the space program?

Our Gato class subs look a lot better than German U-Boats as well. The U-Boats are considerably nicer than the Soviet ones.

SLS is, or was, the super-heavy lift rocket that was supposed to take us back to the moon. Designed by lawyers in Congress (”you’ll re-use Shuttle tech and keep my constituents employed no matter what”), it’s flown once and is projected to cost $2 billion a copy. Once Musk gets Starship perfected, he’ll have a better rocket that costs ... I don’t know, but I’d guess around 1/4th the cost of SLS per launch.

Most of Soyuz is more like 65yo technology. The booster rocket is more like 80yo technology; it’s basically a V-2 that grew up and learned to burn kerosene instead of alcohol.

Starship will not be ready for a moon mission for at least a decade at current progress levels

The main difference between SLS’s Artemis and StarShip is the former is light composite and the later heavy stainless steel.

The next difference is the Artemis is one shot to the moon, but Starship requires at least 5 refueling, due to its immense weight and fuel evaporation.

Because of NASA’s blunders, the moon will be a Chinese province long before any American rocket gets there.

The Soyuz program by the Russians is safer, they have a better design, obviously.

Soyuz has many firsts to it's record:

Soyuz 1 - first test, cosmonaut death on re-entry. The world's first space flight fatality.

Soyuz 11 - 3 cosmonauts died in space.

44 killed in pad explosion including the head of the design team, for Vostok. And that is what they admit to...

Obviousy space exploration is a deadly gamble whoever tries it. We've lost two shuttles and Apollo 1 on the pad
