A ferocious new wildfire has erupted in the Hollywood Hills - sparking a mass evacuation of the iconic Hollywood Boulevard amid warnings that another 100,000 residents should be prepared to evacuate their homes.
The hellish, fast-moving inferno sweeping through the Hills triggered the urgent evacuation order at 6pm local time on Wednesday - impacting at least 50 acres already near Runyon Canyon.
At least five people have lost their lives in the devastating natural disaster so far - with 1,000 structures completely obliterated and thousands of people left with nothing but ash across the City of Angels.
Now, the Sunset Fire is set to wreak burning havoc in the celebrity epicenter, causing the famous strip, home to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the TLC Chinese Theatre and the Hollywood Bowl, to be evacuated.
The alert read: 'A Mandatory Evacuation Order is now in place for Laurel Canyon Blvd (on the west) to Mulholland Dr (on the north) to 101 Freeway (on the east) down to Hollywood Blvd (on the south).'
Witnesses who spotted the new blaze said that the flames 'exploded in size,' because the area is fertile with dense brush that is unfortunately spurring on the inferno.
Fire crews are dropping water from the skies in an effort to contain the blaze and stop the spread to nearby neighborhoods.
But embers are beginning to fly ahead of the main fire and catch onto buildings, with video capturing at least one residential building catching alight as of Wednesday evening.

I’m so sorry :(
I woke up way early, decided to check the news, the Palisades fire is up to 17,234 acres. :-(
WOW
Very possible...
God allows Judgements to befall people who reject his word..California is long overdue.
What will become of these neighborhoods if they experience more heavy rains this spring?
Well, if they weren't willing to manage the underbrush and debris manually, it is being managed now.
That definitely passed my mind, too. Hollywood is, spiritually speaking, Sodom and Gomorrah.
It rains on the good and the bad. There is arguably divine justice in burning down the heart of the decadent entertainment industry. I have to admit enjoying leftist Hollywood actors and producers who had contempt for real Americans suffer, in part due to the ineptitude of the politicians they helped fund. However, most of the victims of the hurricanes in North Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida were political conservatives and many were professed Christians. It is presumptuous to attribute specific motives to God.
The film industry has been diversifying away from California for years. The hollowing out is far along. And now, with most of the big legacy studios having been bought by the streamers ... well, why do Apple, Amazon, Comcast, etc. care where the hired help lives? Why even shoot movies in California any longer when you can build a soundstage anywhere?
An event like this can become a tipping point. Some people are geographically constrained. Movie people? They will probably rebuild somewhere they can get fire insurance, fire protection, decent schools and highways, and lower taxes. A lot of them haven’t actually shot a movie in Hollywood for years.
God also allows bad things to happen to believers to test their metal and purify the souls.
My BBC channel is streaming Battle: Los Angeles.
It is a 2011 Sci Fi film about the Great Cities of planet Earth being devastated by vicious Aliens.
A USA Marine Corps platoon is slowly decimated by the Alien technology, but eventually gain the upper hand.
The Aliens are seeking water resources, which they use as fuel.
Even the Aliens cannot find any water in Los Angeles!
Gov did that one.
I lived in Hollywood for 4+ years after transferring from Cincinnati to UCLA from 68 to 72.
Experienced the Manson satanism stories, the incredible beauty of SM & Malibu beaches, driving PCH and the twisting canyon roads.
Amazing time & sights to see & visit...but thank God my wife & I returned to Ohio.
According to Fox News and smokey night video, three quarters of a mile of Malibu ocean front homes has been literally burned to the ground/beach sand.
That is truly shocking.
Probably more than 50 multi-million dollar homes, just disintegrated.
👍
“Movie people? They will probably rebuild somewhere they can get fire insurance, fire protection, decent schools and highways, and lower taxes.”
And they will then foul those places up.
