I’m from Florida originally. Crocs and Gators are big dangerous lizards whose only positive traits are fried gator (or croc) tail and boots and handbags. 😏

I didn’t mean they shoot pool and hang out. Just that they live in the same neighborhoods. 🙂

See you later alligator
After while crocodile.
See You Later Alligator - Bill Haley and his Comets

The Purist

I give you now Professor Twist,
A conscientious scientist,
Trustees exclaimed, "He never bungles!"
And sent him off to distant jungles.

Camped on a tropic riverside,
One day he missed his loving bride.

She had, the guide informed him later,
Been eaten by an alligator.

Professor Twist could not but smile.

"You mean," he said, "a crocodile."

True in the clip you can’t. In reality, Jaguars are heavier, stronger, and take to water like a duck. In their area they are an apex predator. You never hear about jaguars going crazy and eating humans like you hear about leopards? Seems odd, jaguars are as equipped as leopards. Some cats can hold a grudge. Tigers are famous for it. House cats can go on the prod toward some people. If a house cat weighed 60 pounds, humans would be extinct. IMO and I love both of my cats. 🙂

Another difference is that leopards are African animals and Jaguars live in the Americas. North, Central and South. That distinction is what makes the clip relevant to this story about Costa Rica.

You're right about Jaguars loving the water. I didn't know how much so until I ran across the following gifs looking for the first one.

I think I'll pass on scuba diving in the Amazon.

I saw an article that says there may be up to eight jaguars living in southern Arizona. Jaguars in the south Grizzly’s in the mid and northern US and maybe Siberian tigers in Alaska. It’s getting to be an adventure to go pee on a tree. Lions, tigers, and bears. Oh My. Adds some meaning to a pump shotgun full of slugs and 00. Oh and”Don’t leave home, without it”. 😊. Merry Christmas. Everyone.
