Meh. The WRC has much better drivers with more action anyway. Just need more air time on TV.
F1 racing is a social event for the elites who want to be seen. And there is racing too. It’s like sitting courtside at a Lakers game.
That explains all the people quitting.
I remember once a NASCAR driver mention he was invited to spend the weekend in the garage of an F1 event.....he said the biggest thing that stuck out to him was he didn’t see one crew member from any team smile all weekend......so uptight you couldn’t drag a needle out of their ass with a tractor. Lol!
I don’t see the fun of watching people in tights chasing a ball. Just like I don’t see the fun watching cars driving in circles.
The only F1 race I ever attended was Monaco in 1973. Also made it to the 24 Hours of Le Mans that year.
I’m 100% for tax breaks, as long as they apply to every business. When only a select few companies get tax breaks, then it becomes a matter of who has the right govt connections.
Struck a nerve, didn’t I...
Good.
It’s called crony capitalism for a reason.
FR thread-——America’s Largest And Most Expensive DEI Program Is About To Go Up In Flames
“A lot of people were already skeptical of DEI, a lot of people were already of the opinion that these policies, even though they purport to be about diversity, in practice really have been about a particular ideological vision for higher ed.”
“A whole different part of the American electorate and a whole different constituency, many more from the professional world looked at universities and thought, What on earth is going on? What is the problem here?”
LOL.
Does it apply to drivers, put crew, designers and fabricators? Pit bunnies must go DEI? Helicopter pilot for Mr Ferrari?
Get ready to lose. 😉
Formula one should be merit based. If a woman can drive as well as a man, then she should be in (and I'll ignore the whining from some of the men in NASCAR who said that Danica Patrick was lighter so should have handicapping weights added like horse racing). If a woman can sling around wheels like a man, then let her on the pit crew (I won't hold my breath on that one). If a woman engineer can design the car and squeeze an extra five HP out of the engine then welcome her. Guess what: none of those have to do with her chromosomes - only her skills. DEI is the opposite of a meritocracy.
Formula 1 is an American company?
LOL. The writer should probably understand F1 before starting the article.
I have to wonder if the fastest car/driver won’t win any longer?
LOL- not at all- just pointing out your ignorance, and doing so quite well i might add....
90% neg BUT the left will cling to it to the bitter end despite massive losses (although judging from the crowds, there are a ton of fans, mostly from nations that embrace the woke, so maybe they won’t experience much loss sadly)
When I am a passenger in a commercial airliner I do not care about the race, sexual preferences, or sex of the pilots so long as they are there based on merit and not DEI.
I don’t give a crap who they hire as long as the racing is good and the safety level is top notch. if they have a great black or Asian driver who cares. They can have their DEI as long as MEI is the standard. I assume it will be more about increasing the viewership with a diverse audience.
I would hate to hear my mom bi@&h about poor racing and crappy drivers.
Yes, she’s follows F1 and is the one person in America who is up at 3am to watch the racing live in Dubai. /sarc
The quality of racing in F1 continues to decline yet its popularity continues off the charts. Its getting to be like a fad more than anything else- and I’ve watched F1 for almost 50 years.
They’ve got the DEI Twostep down pat: “Our sport is totally committed to excellence and intense competition at the highest level of performance, and we recognize the only way to advance in this demanding environment is to focus relentlessly on the color of people’s skin, their genitals, their sexual preferences, and their gender identification.”
