What do they do then with Dak’s contract?
Jerry Jones nixed that possibility this morning.....supposedly. I read it about 20 minutes ago but who knows what is in Jones’ brain. He says that Deion Sanders is a good recruiter but that that is not necessary in the NFL.
Jerry knows squat about running an NFL team.
Eat it. Maybe injury settlement. I’m sure Jerry’s got insurance on it, somewhere.
He runs it as a business and he is successful at that. He keeps the Cowgirls in the black and keeps the stadium full. He simply can’t evaluate players. When Dak Prescott was drafted, for example, I already knew that that was a big mistake. Dak Prescott is Donovan McNab 2.0. I do not know if Jones is in charge of the draft. If Jones is then that is the problem. The dumb-ox fired Jimmy Johnson after a Super Bowl win because Johnson was taking too much of Jerry’s limelight!
The reason Daniel Jones is going through the waiver process is because (despite being a vested veteran), he got released past the trade deadline: "Players with less than four (4) years of service time (“non-vested” veterans) are “waived” and are subject to waivers...Players with 4+ seasons of service time are “released.” These players, known as “vested veterans,” do not pass through waivers and are free agents immediately, free to sign with any other team. These rules apply until the trade deadline (presently the Tuesday after Week 8 of the NFL season). After the trade deadline (until the start of the next league year in March), all players – whether a vested veteran or a non-vested veteran – are “waived” and subject to the waiver process."
As such, any team that claims him before waivers would be assuming the rest of his contract.
THANK YOU!
