I haven’t seen that movie either, but now I want to. I saw Desperately Seeking Susan when I was in high school and desperately wanted to go to college in New York City. (Parents said hell no.) Good thing that didn’t happen! Honestly, I was more into the Goth scene with The Cure, Echo, Siouxsie, The Smiths, etc. I ended up at art school around the time The Pixies and Nirvana were going. I fit in there much better than the NY punk scene.

It’s funny how we all had our little tribes back then. I was more of a Goth wannabe, but I LOVED the music. Even today, if I hear the beginning notes of Peter Murphy’s “Cuts You Up,” or the Psychedelic Furs’ “Love My Way,” it puts me into a trance.

I used to date jocks. Then I somehow ended up with a boyfriend who was a Pennsylvania redneck disguised as a punk bass player in a hair band. Now all his social media posts are filled with turkey hunting and mine focus a lot on art and history.😆
