This guy obviously knows nothing about Churchill's motivation before and during the war.

Tucker should have asked him: Did you read The Second World War by Churchill, the five-volume book he got the Nobel Prize for writing? The one that describes in the first person what his thoughts, memos and activities were on a day-by-day basis in the months and years leading up to, and then during the entire war?

But Tucker obviously has not read it or he would have been all over this guy like hair on a gorilla for trashing Churchill in such an ignorant and childish manner.

Hitler's so-called peace offerings were in stark contrast to the reality of his actions in rearming Germany, propagandizing and whipping his people into accepting Total War, and then taking over the Rhineland, Sudetenland, Austria, and Czechoslovakia, all before attacking Poland and invading Holland and Belgium after the "Phony War".

The Brits all along after WW1 were putting their heads in the sand, hoping against hope that Hitler's designs were minor, like taking back Alsace-Lorraine and getting debt relief.

Churchill ALONE disabused them of their denial, awakened enough of them to reinvigorate the aircraft manufacturing industry and the other armed forces, conduct naval battles in the Channel and Atlantic to supply his island, and motivate the people to awaken and defend themselves.

Does this remind you of our current situation? It should.

The carpet bombing of German cities was not done until Hitler had done tremendous damage to London civilian districts. He dictated to his war cabinet, that the German people had been so propagandized into thinking that the Germans were slaughtering the English in the Battle of Britain, and were in fact suppressing the true news that the British were overpowering Goering's Luftwaffe with smaller (but growing) squadrons and superior strategy and technology. Churchill told his air marshals to bomb elsewhere in Germany from time to time, not always, so that the German people would know that the British were gaining control of the conflict.

But overwhelmingly the goals were manufacturing and military targets... and Churchills critics were quick to point out if he strayed and most British were against bombing civilian targets, being as civilized as they were.

Sorry, I did mean Tucker.
Not sure why I wrote Hunter.

The “historian” was giving his opinion. Not TUCKER.

Yes, Tucker did not challenge his version of history.

Churchill put Australian and New Zealand troops in the front lines of WWII battles so the British casualties would be lower and not negatively affect Churchill's popularity.

I would think Aussies would despise Churchill for Gallipoli.

At least Chamberlain wised up after Hitler took the rest of Czechoslovakia in 1939, and made his stand with Poland. And even then there were some in the cabinet telling him to pressure the Poles to give up Danzig, thinking it would avoid war.

IIRC Tucker didn’t challenge Putin during his interview, but did come out against Putin a few days after.

I hardly see his broadcasts any more, too hard to find; he would have gotten exposure had he switched his show at the same time to Newsmax, which wanted his services.

Tucker probably wanted to leave Russia ALIVE.

People that piss off Putin have the habit of ending up dead.

Yes, and Churchill conned FDR and screwed over the U.S.

FDR wasn’t conned. He wanted us in the war from Day One.

“I did watch it. I found it to be an interesting take on WWII in general. One thing he stated was that Hitler never wanted to go to war with Great Britain or France. He really did not think that Britain and France would go to war with Germany over Poland. That the communists in USSR were a common enemy to both the Germans and the UK.”

This is not a new “take” on Hitler; this view is now commonplace among historians of WWII. It’s a stretch, though, to go from these reasonable claims to the claim that “the Holocaust was an accident.” After the annexation of the Sudetenland and, soon after, the takeover of most of the rest of Czechoslovakia, it became clear to most people in the UK (even, reluctantly, to Chamberlain) that war with Germany was inevitable.

Hitler wanted Britain as an ally, he sent Von Ribbentrop over there as ambassador to Britain to try to court them.

But he was such a buffoon, and the Brits hated him, and for that, he never forgave them and became the biggest England hater. He convinced Hitler that it was England and France who were Germany’s real enemies, and not the Bolsheviks.

Historian David Irving, sold millions of books, spent decades in archives & getting confidential diaries from principal actors’ widows, wrote authoritatively about both Hitler & Churchill. Churchill’s villany, speech in Toronto 1986

Churchill nudist drunk coward art-forger worried about his historical legacy at cost of millions of lives, Indians consider him responsible for 2.3 million Punjabi starvation deaths 1928.

“Tucker starstruck..”

This is mostly a hit piece against Tucker Carlson.
I like Tucker.. he interviews people with unorthodox views and lets them talk.
I like that. I can judge for myself what I want to believe so I’d rather not have everything filtered so I only hear the orthodox views.

I’ll keep watching Tucker’s interviews.

“Historian” David Irving? Yeah, hard pass.

In 1991, Irving espoused an antisemitic conspiracy theory when he stated that the Jews “dragged us into two world wars and now, for equally mysterious reasons, they’re trying to drag us into the Balkans.”

In 1995, when Irving was confronted with a Holocaust survivor, he repeated the same claim and asked, “How much money have you made from that piece of ink on your arm, which may indeed be real tattooed ink? Yes. Half a million dollars, three-quarters of a million for you alone?”

On 6 October 1995, Irving told an audience in Tampa, Florida, that he agreed with the Nazi Minister of Propaganda Joseph Goebbels that the Jews “had it coming for them.”

On 5 September 1996, Irving filed a libel suit against Deborah Lipstadt and her British publisher Penguin Books for publishing the British edition of Lipstadt’s book, “Denying the Holocaust.” Not only did Irving lose the case, but in light of the evidence presented at the trial a number of his works that had previously escaped serious scrutiny were brought to public attention. He was also ordered to pay all of Penguin’s trial costs, estimated to be as much as £2 million.

The blitz rolled in so fast before people could decide what to do they were already encircled and could not escape. Not sure they would have fared better with the Russians either even if they had got out.

There is enough evil in the story of WW II from murdering Jews to interning Japanese, to mass killing of Chinese with germ Warfare. Some great heroism, to be true, some great advancements—like V-2s and jet planes, tape recorders and TVs. But horrors galore—on both sides. No clean hands here—some less bloody that is all. From burning out Japanese soldiers with flame throwers to using Japanese cities for Nuke tests (rather than military sites like a naval base). War is hell. There is no such thing as war crimes—why—war IS a crime! The only rule is win by any means possible. The days of rules for war went out with the Longbow in the 100 years war.
