During the ammo crunch caused by the GWOT we were taking any .223/5.56 we could get. We got a batch of 5.56 ball that was giving us fits. We broke 5 firing pins on that stuff until we said “no mas”. The earlier 180 series rifles will fire 5.56, but it’s not a good idea. The 580 series is dual caliber.

Background checks that they stick in a database permanently and that specifies exactly what you are buying, is backdoor registration.
That already exists, so are you going to skip buying a firearm or buy one under the table? I guess I am past worrying about background checks, they are here to stay and having previously worked at an FFL, they do work. People that shouldn’t have a firearm (e.g., felons), should be stopped. What is missing from the equation is that people are not prosecututed for trying to purchase firearms illegally.

Where did I say I wouldn’t or haven’t bought firearms? I stated that they’re in a DeFacto registration database regardless of laws pertaining to registration.
If I was worried about that, I wouldn’t have let the DOJ take my prints once, let alone twice, along with S/N’s off various firearms.
Sorry, I misunderstood your comment apparently.
All good.
Still too early in the morning :D
Did I see the M-1 safety on the Mini-14?
When I was in the market for 10mm, people said it had way too much recoil. Someone posted a video of her shooting one to shut them up.
