These fires will increase all the home owners’ insurance which will up our mortgage payments.
Ban all Fido’s!
Did I do that?

I hate when that happens.
So, will we see labels on future batteries to no use them as chew toys? Will manufacturers have to send out labels to everyone to put them on existing batteries?
Just watched a more horrific video.
Guy enters an elevator carrying a lithium ion battery. Sets in down and elevator doors close. Then it explodes into intense flames. All on video.
Died 28 days later.
All to be “environmentally friendly”.
That white dog who was chewing on the battery was a real dumb dog. He kept watching his handiwork go up in flames instead of leaving like the other dog and the cat. What a doofus!
I saw that one on FR a few days ago. It was really horrific. His body in the hallway looked like a burned blackened crisp.
Hmm, I wonder if that is what caused my shed fire; Not a dog, but a mouse, rat or maybe even a squirrel got in and chewed on the wiring of one of my gadgets with LiIon or LiPo power.. Dang critters often chew through the exposed wiring of various security devices I have scattered around the compound....
(Fortunately most of those are powered by lead acid batteries so they don’t explode; at worst, just melt some wiring)
Pests are attracted to wiring insulation ever since they’ve been forced to make it from “environmentally friendly” materials.
accidents can happen especially with pets but a responsible owner shouldn’t let his doggie chew on a lithium battery pack according to my Veterinarian anyway
the world is crazy. the only ice cream truck flies up the street at about 35mph so no kids could ever catch it, and it is after dinner and chilly outside when demand for ice cream is down anyway
he does this all the time, it is mad. i wanted to catch his truck to buy a cone and advise him about this but he’s just too damned fast, we can’t catch him.. his little ice cream jingle comes and goes so quickly and when we get the door open he’s a block up the street already and racing around the bend.
Mice will chew on anything, as anyone who has ever dealt with them knows.
Doesn’t matter what it’s made out of.
wow. didn’t know you had to bring your own battery to the elevator.
I am never getting anywhere near those damn batteries. Here’s a video of a guy carrying one in an elevator and it explodes. Warning: It’s graphic.........
“Doggy doors save lives!”
The mice chewed through all the wiring on the Nazi Panzers. True.
“Fine. Hide my chewies and treats and go to work. See if I care…”
I’ve heard that Chicago and the surrounding suburbs won’t allow Romex for electrical wiring, even in residential construction. It all has to be in conduit. This is either due to the the electrician’s union or the concern that rodents chewing on electrical wiring can cause a fire. (They find it difficult if not impossible to chew through metal conduit).
