...As you do.
Regards,
*I've add the quotation marks, because I suspect that she didn't actually DATE them.
I saw them a few times when they were in their prime. Those first 4 albums they released were outstanding. Some of the best music of the era.
it was the mother’s decision
she did not want her around the drugs/sex/rock n roll crowd
Saw them at the Texxas jam in ‘87. Yes, 2 xs. That is how they spelled it on the shirts.
I never saw anything in their music that reminded me of the Stones. They are just a contemporary to the Stones.
Awesome band and talen and a long list of great songs.
Maybe he can do what Bonnie Tyler did - sing anyway with a new sound....
His daughter by uber-groupie Bebe Buell, Liv Tyler, was accepted, loved, and raised by Buell’s boyfriend Todd Rundgren.
1. If she had openly acknowledged Steve Tyler's paternity - rather than lying about it - this would not necessarily have had the consequence that Liv would have been exposed to more drugs/sex/rock n roll than she was anyway. It is very doubtful that Steve Tyler would have insisted upon being awarded custody of Liv, and exposing her to that errant lifestyle.
2. Bebe Buell already had - and persisted in having - a very tumultuous lifestyle, replete with numerous "trysts" with various different rock stars who were heavily into drugs. She was certainly no "choir girl."
3. It is immoral to deceitfully hide such information - unless the father is, e.g., a serial killer.
4. The Wikipedia entries are unclear, so I am unable to confirm this, but Buell apparently also kept the putative father (Todd Rundgren) in the dark, as well. The best I can find is the following quote: "According to Liv Tyler, 'Todd basically decided when I was born that I needed a father so he signed my birth certificate. He knew that there was a chance that I might not be his, but…'"
Regards,
Probably America’s greatest rock band of all time when you factor in longevity, number of hits and overall body of work. And no, not at all like the Rolling Stones.
Just FYI: “elfin” means small of stature, short and slender.
In the context of Tolkien, the proper term would be “elven”. Liv is a lot of things, but elfin is not one of them.
I’d put ZZ Top ahead of them in that department.
Aerosmith the first rock concert I ever attended. Nazareth was the opener. I met my first real girlfriend at the show. Good memories.
Yeah a case could be made for ZedZed. A lot of other bands were great but for whatever reason didn’t last all that long. Allman Brothers, Skynyrd etc. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers (my fav) would be in the mix if FM radio didn’t shun him 20 years ago.
Dream On…IMO the greatest American rock & roll song. I never saw the band perform.
I always say, at most a band can expect to be relevant for about 7 years, before they turn into a nostalgia act.
Nothing lasts forever but they have made some great music.
Saw them just before they “hit the big time” at Genesee Community College in a small gym. Maybe 100 people.
I could have reached out and touched Tyler. Saw them a couple of other times as well.
