Whatever happened to "I gave at the office?"
Regards,
Yeah, I don't get it either!
Lived the first 38 years of my life without a phone (okay, until I moved out at 17, there was a phone in my parents' home). Then I got married, and the wife insisted on getting a wall-mounted telephone in the kitchen.
Regards,
Smartphones. Not even once.
New version of old scams.
I remember 1975, when the Hari Krishnas were infesting the airports asking for donations and selling books.
One HK girl asked a man for a donation of $5 and continued to hassle him. She said for $5 she would sell him an HK book. To get rid of her he handed her a $20 and expected $15 back, She grabbed the $20, handed him the book and took off like a rocket.
He then reported her to the airport authorities. I don’t know how it all ended but the HKs were the lice of airports everywhere in 1975.
“Hand me your wallet, and I will take $1 from it.”
Reminds me of some fortune tellers in Hawaii back in 1969. Trying to tell your fortune, and then blessing the money in your wallet. I did not fall for it, and her fortune on my past life was 100% wrong.
