Vee haf vays!
The German National Pastime.
That's how it always starts.
Don’t know about them; but I’d have to give up my church, as well as family visits, if they did that here. Most of Europe has no idea how far Americans drive to live their lives.
Next they will want you to go to Church on Sundays.
These people are sick. All they really have to do is go to sound money, get rid of taxes on income and real property and make all their taxes based on consumption. Conservation will be encouraged.
Instead, they attack fossil fuels and desire for us either to eat bugs or die.
SOOOOOO
CHANGE workdays /weekends. Sat & Sun now workdays
It‘s a sign of the time. These days, it is becoming more and more difficult to tell facts and satire apart…
Yes, it was in 1994, but iirc, there were just restrictions on using cars with no closed- loop catalyst during ozone smog (There were still many of them around in Germany in those days ).
All vehicles, who were allowed to drive, were restricted to 56 mph, i.e. 90 km/h.
Of course, if you were returning from a longer trip by car, you were obviously exempt 😊
Still, it was rescinded very quickly, since the regulations didn’t lower ozone emissions by a significant margin.
Interesting.
I actually spend many, many years in Germany and I have never heard of that. 🤷♀️
Do you mind telling me, where you were stationed?
Ops, I just noticed your other message about Mannheim....
Hahaha.... Mir ging gerade ein Licht auf! 💡
Wir kennen uns doch.
Hatte keine Ahnung das du Soldat warst.
Hoffe es geht dir gut! 😘
Kein Fahren, Fahren, Fahren mehr auf der Autobahn.
Actually, there was and be ganz viel fahren auf der Autobahn for me.
Vielen Dank, Anke 😃
Ich war nur nie Soldat, ich bin auch kein Amerikaner, ich habe nur länger in Kalifornien und in Virginia gelebt😄
(For the sake of all Freepers, I shall be switching back to English now 😊)
I am a run of the mill German, it‘s my uncle who lived in CA. It was there, of all places, where I was diagnosed with Asperger syndrome sixteen years ago.
The political bent of too many Californians is a problem, of course, and it is very often the subject of spirited discussions here on FR, yes, but psychologists there definitely know their subject 👍😀
At last I knew what had gone wrong in the first four decades of my life…
