I would like to see a law stating if a women gets pregnant the biological father has to start paying child support immediately. Yes, I know it puts most of the burden on men, but it’s a start. That might be a way of cutting down on the number of pregnancies and abortions. Make people actually responsible for their actions. Okay, I’m ready for the blowback.

I would like to see a law stating if a women gets pregnant the biological father has to start paying child support immediately.

As a practical matter, it takes time for the pregnancy to develop to the point where paternity can be determined without risking the baby. I could support child support retroactive to the start of the pregnancy once paternity is established via DNA, as long as such support is null and void if the child is aborted. If the child were to be aborted after child support is received, it would have to be repaid.

If only women had access to birth control pills, diaphragms, sponges, implants in the arm (Norplant), morning after pills, IUDs, condoms, etc. etc. they wouldn't have to rely on abortions to prevent unwanted pregnancies.
