I see the point in your second paragraph, but where are you getting the view that "the speech negated women called to be nuns, or faithful women (married & unmarried) who devote themselves equally to other spheres of life, and to tending to the poor, the sick, to orphans, etc…"

Is it from this paragraph or somewhere else?

I'm beyond blessed with the many talents God has given me, but it cannot be overstated that all of my success is made possible because a girl I met in band class back in middle school would convert to the faith, become my wife, and embrace one of the most important titles of all: homemaker.

THE “SISTERS” need to listen over & over to Butker’s speech.

He is reflecting his own religion.

Given the widespread presence of female dominated orgiastic sects it is no wonder that St. Paul urged the foundation of a Christian church that was primarily male dominated.

“Instead of promoting unity in our church, our nation, and the world, his comments seem to have fostered division.

These delusional post-Catholic nuns could (and probably would) make the same complaint about Jesus.

Yet more smooth-brain thinking from those who choose to not fully embrace living in this society.

He did address the men - but he was very clear about elevating his wife’s path and choice (to give up career) as THE honorable route for women, THE path for fulfillment.

From a practical level, It is a bit shortsighted in tone, given his position as a multi-millionaire with a busy high-profile schedule. His family’s realities are not going to play out like everyone else’s

But obviously, nuns who take a vow of chastity, and who’ve devoted their life to scholarship and passing on that scholarship to women who go onto wear many hats in their life both inside and outside the home — do not want their mission to the world limited or misrepresented.

The kicker's wife is serving God more than these pretentoius and conceited “nuns”. God said to multiply from the beginning of human history along with Paul stating to Timothy “But women will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety.”

But what about young, married women who struggle with infertility?

Paul never “multiplied.” And neither did Jesus.

Traditional nuns are "all in", and they have no problem with Mr. Butker's speech because they understand the context and to whom it is addressed. The lot in the photo came of age in the '60s and didn't figure out they were sold a fake bill of goods.

These sisters are closer to Mr. Butker physically and spiritually:

Jesus and Paul were not women, duh. As to the low percentage happenstance of infertility you mentioned, there are other options such as adoption and of course God’s understanding. My take, God will not take kindly to females who would rather serve for a career/boss/their vanities rather than a husband.

Of the 75 women listed on this page, I doubt more than five are under the age of 50.

You need to read the Scriptures as well, God separates roles of the sexes as designed, enumerated that many times throughout the Books.

I simply meant that Jesus and Paul did not procreate.

Every woman in the Bible has her own unique journey and circumstances. Some circumstances are highly contextual and cultural for the time (think: the polygamist arrangements of the Old Testament) - and even then, women like Sarah and Hannah waited ages before they could be mothers. Sarah a whole century. And Hannah was extremely isolated in her marriage during her barrenness despite being the favorite wife. There are women in the New Testament like Lydia who was a tradeswoman and single, and Anna the prophetess who was widowed and devoted her life to prayer.

We are not called to idolize anything on earth whether jobs, husbands, or children. Jesus comes first. We are to seek God’s purpose out in every season of life, and represent Christ, preach the Gospel, save souls, and love our neighbor in whatever context He places us. And to use the gifts and talents He’s given us to honor Him, and expand the Kingdom

So you actually believe to go and multiply thus creating a family is idolatry? Sounds like a command to me. Stick to the subject, agape is low hanging fruit or milk rather than meat in the context of the subject matter of this thread. “Housewife is servitude thus is Spiritually impotent”/being a power feminist first pretending to be a cloistered nun point presented.

Lydia “the purple” hung with the Roman aristocrats who had low birth rates in general so being without child would of been a rational reason of not having kids (Acts does not go into detail of her personal life) so you assumed especially her being a recent convert. Lydia was not brought up from the time of birth into the Christian faith (We are around 2,000 years from events unlike Lydia, so we have no excuse), so your point is moot about the tone these nuns are spouting in the article posted.

BTW, Christendom built societal barriers based on what God deemed correct (Raising families/sexual mores, etc...). The feminist movement, that started in the the mud-late 19th century in the US blew all of that up. These nuns are feminist first, followers of Christ last, point I was making, that is all.

There are plenty of protestant denominations that qualify for that title as well. So lighten up on the anti-Catholic crap.
