So tell me was this a big thing and were people really pigging out on shrimp to this degree so that the place is now going under?
This was the situation in one of the earlier (and very funny) episodes of The Simpsons. Homer is ejected from the Frying Dutchman seafood restaurant because he’s eating them out of business. It winds up with Homer taking Sea Captain to court for faulty advertising.
I wonder if she is friends or related to the oyster-eating pig in the news a few weeks ago?
I think a good idea might have been to discontinue the promotion if it’s putting you out of business.
But that’s just me.
🐖 🐷 🐽 {oink! snort!}
but I see these animals at buffets...just because they can stuff themselves doesn't mean its the right, proper, healthy thing to do....
people own these businesses and expect reasonable behavior....
In the past I’ve heard of Chinese all you can eat buffets complain about how American men can eat like, well, like Homer Simpson even though that is not how they said it.

I suspect there are at least some similarities.
It sounds like it was a “Going Out Of Business” sale.
The company is the one who made up the rules.
They also have/had the ability to modify the rules.
Gluttony is one of the seven deadly sins. And dunkenness is considered a form of gluttony!
Eating for 4 1/2 hours is certainly nothing to brag about.

One of the classic episodes.
In my 20’s (way back when) I went to KFC with an older co-worker, because of an all you can eat. He ate 11 pieces of fried chicken, potatos, all the sides, it was repulsive.
to green light endless shrimp in these times shows an uncanny lack of understanding of basic business.
if they charged $1 for a quarter pound of shrimp, it would’ve covered costs and not put the company at risk.
oh well. that company will fail making way for another, better run, organization.
The sad thing is — She’s probably right.
I heard somewhere that the company supplying the shrimp bought and owned 40% of red lobster and pressured them to keep the shrimp deal. I wonder how they came out.
All these dimwits had to do is offer the deal to only preferred customers, instead of every glutton in America.
- a once a year offer to pastors and their families
- a once a year offer to first responders
- a once a year offer for bronze star to MOH veterans
- a once a year offer to community awardees for doing something other than stuffing the fat asses
You know once in a while when my Iron is low I go to Golden Corral and eat their steak like a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Mind you I don’t do this often because GC has raised their prices and yes gluttony. However when I need the extra Iron it really makes me feel better for days.
I only eat the steak, no carbs or vegies unless they have sweet potatoes which is not every time I go. I can put away around 6 to 8 steaks, cooked rare, eating small bites and chewing carefully, but the good part is I won’t be hungry until noon the next day.
