She is absolutely correct. Most Americans do not watch the news, and Black Americans least of all.

News ratings have confirmed that fact for at least 60 years.

I will speculate that someone on her staff, or a network executive, suggested some kind of news platform that would specifically attract Black viewers.

The Black female news division president rejected the idea, for obvious business reasons, and politically Woke network executives forced her to resign.

They make up 10% of the population in the U.S., but they are all I see on TV and in the news.

I agree. One needs to just glance at ABC News to confirm. Godwin had little to gain from this observation, unless it was true.

I can't speak to black's news viewership habits, but is anyone watching ? They/we are paying attention but not necessarily to broadcast appointment news, imho.

And there is proof, CBS Mornings (for Blacks) has about half of their stories aimed at Blacks, quite noticeable. Their ratings are in the tank. They make every attempt to cater to a Black audience, and there is no audience. Not a good business model.

Godwin made the controversial statement and also claimed that the network had overcompensated for a lack of diversity in its newsroom following the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis cops and the Black Lives Matter protest movement that followed.

Godwin might have been telling the truth here - not something 'white liberal elties' want to here. It's like telling Biden he's NOT keeping blacks out of chains...
