Gee Molly has been, why aren't you complaining to Spike Lee for not casting you in his movies.

What an ungrateful spinster, John Hughes made her career.

He made films about what he knew.

Spike Lee made films overwhelmingly about Black people.

Woody Allen made films about neurotic NY Jews.

Francis Ford Coppola made films about NY Italians in the mafia.

Shock Shock. Directors tend to cover what they personally know.

Long Duck Dong wasn’t enough? He got an Oscar out of it.

Yes, Molly was playing up to the Black interviewer, and yes, she’s falling in with the woke attitudes of the day, but look, this was a comment people made at the time, and back then it wasn’t necessarily political. Hughes was even prejudiced against Croatians, for Pete’s sake. Whether it was about whiteness or not, his was a limited and in its way privileged world.

Molly can always claim that she was brought up not to see color. If I remember rightly, her father was a blind musician.

The woman simply made an observation; the movie was filmed at a time when schools were less diverse.

The comment in the video was innocuous; she didn't apologize for anything.

Um... maybe because America is and was very very white?

Counter to public opinion, the percentage of blacks hasn’t changed much over the last 100 years in America, and in fact their percentage of the population actually went DOWN in the last census.

1790 757,208 19.3% (highest)
1800 1,002,037 18.9%
1810 1,377,808 19.0%
1820 1,771,656 18.4%
1830 2,328,642 18.1%
1840 2,873,648 16.8%
1850 3,638,808 15.7%
1860 4,441,830 14.1%
1870 4,880,009 12.7%
1880 6,580,793 13.1%
1890 7,488,788 11.9%
1900 8,833,994 11.6%
1910 9,827,763 10.7%
1920 10.5 million 9.9%
1930 11.9 million 9.7% (lowest)
1940 12.9 million 9.8%
1950 15.0 million 10.0%
1960 18.9 million 10.5%
1970 22.6 million 11.1%
1980 26.5 million 11.7%
1990 30.0 million 12.1%
2000 34.6 million 12.3%
2010 38.9 million 12.6%
2020 41.1 million 12.4%

It is an urban MYTH that blacks are becoming the majority. What is actually happening is, they keep taking groups that used to be considered and counted as “white” and classifying them as something else. Hispanics were originally counted as white and are growing fast and are much larger group than Blacks. Asians are actually the fastest growing group, but are still a small percentage.

Who is this self-centered, racist, Molly Ringwald to completely discredit all the actors, actresses, and directors of 1980s movies?

Here's just a few movies she needs to go watch:

- Trading Places (1983)
- A Passage to India (1984)
- A Soldier’s Story (1984)
- Beverly Hills Cop (1984)
- Ghostbusters (1984)
- Police Academy (1984)
- Revenge of the Nerds (1984)
- The Killing Fields (1984)
- Police Academy 2: Their First Assignment (1985)
- The Color Purple (1985)
- Hoosiers (1986)
- Police Academy 3: Back in Training (1986)
- The Golden Child (1986)
- Beverly Hills Cop II (1987)
- Lethal Weapon (1987)
- Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol (1987)
- Predator (1987)
- Action Jackson (1988)
- Coming to America (1988)
- I’m Gonna Git You Sucka (1988)
- Police Academy 5: Assignment Miami Beach (1988)
- Do the Right Thing (1989)

A movie about an upper middle class suburban white family stars white people?

Did John Hughes direct, “Better Off Dead?”
“Someone threw away a perfectly good white boy.”

She's old now. No one cared what she thinks.

Her only asset was her youth. And that was 30 years ago.

Wrong Molly. The true star of your films was Long Duck Dong.

Ringwald was whining a few years back about the scene in "Breakfast Club" where John Bender was peeking up her skirt at her panties and how exploitive it now is. Turns out, they weren't even her panties but rather a "panty stunt double" (the actress herself being a minor at the time).

On a related note, these old films from the 80s remain popular today among young people precisely because they weren't pushing an agenda, they weren't afraid of offending the racial sensibilities of today's white liberals, and they cast people for the script with a total disregard to now-mandated racial quotas.

In short, they entertained audiences first and foremost and still do.

Nevertheless, Ringwald continues to crap all over her old films, the very films that made her insanely rich, because they are now "problematic" when viewed through today's woke agenda.

Please Molly, in your sage liberal wisdom tell us how having characters of color would have made any of those movies even one tick better? I’m waiting...

All of this hand wringing over a stupid white guilt complex you think you need to have? You’re a phony kid, and you’re not very smart.
