Actually, I was thinking about moving to Italy IF Trump WAS NOT elected.
However, IF Trump is not elected, there may be no place to escape to.

Seriously, Italy, Portugal and Spain have all been retirement destinations for years for people from the UK.
There are thousands of properties for sale all over Italy that can be purchased for a fraction of what they would be worth in the UK or California or even South Carolina or Arizona or Florida now.

I have been working on trying to convince the Mrs for about two years. We follow multiple YouTube channels of Expats who have moved to Italy. Along with some that have rebuilt stone homes that are over 500 years old.

Many of the places in the USA that were inexpensive retirement destinations are now more expensive than my home in NH. This is not the case in Spain, Portugal and Italy.
Especially in the southern half of Italy. Even within walking distance of the Mediterrenian or Adriatic.

Even the higher end properties are significantly cheaper in Italy. Places that would be Multiple Millions in the USA are $400-500K in Italy.

So, it is not just stupid liberals thinking about leaving the USA.

He’s looking for a vrbo to rent out for profit rather than moving wherever. Fake story.

according to Wikipedia there are over 200 thousand American citizens living in the Philippines. Many are returnees who became US citizen and returned after retirement. Others are married to Filipinos or know the country from being in the military.

None are here because of Trump.

But hey, find half a dozen neurotic rich folk who worry about Trump and want to move overseas, and they get headlines.

***The lawyer is also moving to escape the looming threat of gun violence. ***

Gun problems were solved in 1968. The democrats said so!

“Today we begin to disarm the criminal and the careless and the insane. All of our people who are deeply concerned in this country about law and order should hail this day.”-— Lyndon Johnson signing the 1968 gun control act into law.

And Thomas J. Dodd, who wrote the 1968 gun control act using the 1938 Nazi weapons law as a pattern...

“No one can predict how many lives will be spared because of this bill, but, if the bloody record of our yesterdays is any measure, millions of future Americans will live to enjoy the promise of many peaceful tomorrows.

I am grateful to have had the opportunity to play a part in this great moment in our time.”— Thomas J. Dodd on passage of the 1968 Gun control act.

I’d move to Italy in a heartbeat, but it wouldn’t be to escape a Trump presidency. The food alone would be worth it. Throw in the sightseeing, the history, the “Ciao, bellas”. Wow.
