These are the same experts who created the “food pyramid” which is junk science
I’m getting tired of food labels trying to make their foods sound less fattening by listing the calories per serving, then defining a ‘serving’ as an unrealistically small portion.
A serving of fruit is 1/2 cup.
Five servings is approx two apples and a banana.
No, I’m reading these recommendations from CURRENT independent people who also trash the “food pyramid.”
You just cannot eat all the fruits and vegetables that are required. Not unless a ‘serving” is like 2 ounces.

An 11.5oz can of V8 is 2.5 servings.
Well, I’ve heard that half a banana is a single serving. That’s about the only definition I’ve ever heard.
But are you really going to eat two apples and a banana in a day, in addition to all the other stuff you’re supposed to eat?

Since beer is made from grain that means a six pack every night.

Why in God’s name do you listen to the government, or anyone, about what you should eat?
Eat mostly vegetables, animals, and fruits. You will be fine.

Yes, plus half cup of berries, that can of V8. Some kind of veg with dinner.
PLUS at least 80 grams of protein...about half from veg sources and half from animal sources.
You could do all of that and be under 1500 calories.
Or, you could go to McDonalds and do that in a single meal. And die 30 years early.
How is that point determined? I don't know that I'm full until I'm full. How do I know I'm just under that point unless I can time travel into the future?
Carb Smart ice cream claims there are 9 2/3 cup servings in a tub.
I’m lucky if I get 3 servings out of a tup.
