I’m in San Antonio, so at worst I might have to travel a few miles to an ideal site. I do need eclipse glasses, but I have a while to get them. Never do a total eclipse before, and unlikely to see another, so I’m not missing this.
April 8
I’ve seen two in my life here on the east coast. Both times were way cool.
A friend lives near dead center in totality. We’ll be traveling to his place in Ohio. If the clouds are too much, we’ll be heading south to a location of opportunity.
In 2017, we hosted an eclipse party for 250.
I'm about a half hour away for this one. Hoping for better this time.
Even 99% totality is nothing compared to 100%.With anything less than 100%, you will still be in daylight. Only a full total eclipse gives that feeling that you just saw a divine intervention- the moment the full disk of the moon completely blocks out the sun and the stars come out and there is sunset 360 degrees all around.
We travelled to Knoxville, TN for the last one and I hope to get to this one.
If you can get into the path of totality, do it and don't think anything less will do.
Yup...we’re going up to northern Vermont.Of course blizzards aren’t unknown up there in April so we may see nothing.
I live in the Atlanta area and travelled to Nashville for the one a few years ago. It was great. I looked at cloudiness percentages and the farther south the better, but not going to Mexico. I’ve planned a trip to San Antonio around the eclipse. Hopefully will have clear skies.
Thanks l looked it up, l just thought it should been included.
We saw the 2017 one in eastern Oregon, but we won’t be able to travel to see this one.
I plan to go out into the back yard and howl.
Practically right in the middle of it...bought glasses months ago and a telescope with a solar filter. Was right in the middle of the 2017 one as well.
Handing out fancy sneakers?
There are some very nice places up in the Pittsburg area of Coos, County, NH. The CT Lakes region.
Then you can hang out at the Buck Rub Pub.
The zone of totality will pass directly over the Ranch. Gonna take pictures of the cows freaking.
We will be setting up audio recorders to compare vocalizations of birds on the breeding grounds during the total eclipse 1.5 hours for 1 week prior and then 1 week after.
Will also set up 2-3 cameras to time-lapse 1.5 hour before and 1.5 hour after the total eclipse.
I live in the totality zone. Friends are coming to visit from out of town and we will watch from a nearby park. My eye doctor’s office gave me four pairs of eclipse glasses.
Bwahahahahahaha!
Thanks for that map graphic.
We’ll be smack in the middle of the TX zone.
We enjoyed the last total eclipse, while staying in NYC.
