If I drove an EV as many miles as my Silverado I’d be just coming up on $300,000 in battery replacements...

Truck was $28K new
been about $50K gas
$7K tires
$9K trannies (on #3)(I don’t have the raise capacity to attempt myself)
Throw in another $5K for oil, filters, misc parts...
Looks to me like winning :-)
Plus, I can sleep in the back of it out in the wilderness...

Reagan got it right: “Get the government off your back and out of your wallet!”

One wonders what life in the USA would be like if our government did not like effing us!

PS: I am the “Taxman” because when I quit lurking and became an active FReeper in 1998 (after the March for Justice), I was an activist/lobbyist for the National Retail Sales Tax, now known as the FAIRtac.

We will never be a FRee people until we replace the Marxist inspired “progressive” income tax with the FAIRtax and abolish the IRS!

No longer a lobbyist, but still a FAIRtax activist.

Roger that!

Diesel/electric hybrid is THE way to go!

We outnumber the environmentalist whackos - all we have to do is outvote them!

An automaker who produces a hybrid auto, giving consumers a choice of either a small diesel or gas ICE, would, IMHO have a sure winner.

Technology being what it is nowadays, said auto should be a piece of cake to design, test, manufacture and sell.

I was born in 1951. I came of age when nobody gave the federal government a moment’s thought (except the occasional things like Brown v Board of Ed, University of Alabama desegregation in 1963, advisors to Vietnam, and the space program). Most of that stuff was FAR away from us in upstate New York.

It was very nice not having to wonder what the government was going to do to eff us each day.

“Automakers probably don’t think there is a market for it. I’d probably buy a diesel hybrid over a gas hybrid. It seems to be a good match”

Diesel cars are difficult to get approved due to to emissions. In other words Government regulations.

I was born in 1941, so, I reckon, I have had 10 more years of FReedom.

I bought a Savage .410/.22 over under when I was in the 7th grade — 13 YOA! Paid with allowance and lawn mowing cash at the Montgomery Ward check-out counter for the rifle, a box of .410 shells and a box of .22. Walked roughly one mile home with the gun and ammo — no problem!

Try that today!

They are indeed!

I also appreciate their plans for training businesses in converting old heavy duty hardware into more capable hybrid diesel electric systems, using their kits.
